The Trashmen Christmas Number One Odds Drifting Despite Facebook Campaign For Surfin Bird
Wednesday 15 December 2010 at 15:50
Until last year the Christmas Number One was becoming a formality with the X Factor winner dominating for four years running. A Facebook campaign changed all that when Rage Against The X Factor was successful in getting Rage Against The Machine to Christmas Number 1, against all the odds. We may be in for a similar story again this year.
Surfin Bird Big Odds For Christmas Hit
Facebook campaigners are getting behind the popular song ‘Surfin Bird' by the Trashmen. The song was originally released in 1963 and has been used in classic films such as Full Metal Jacket but it has only recently become a cult classic due to popular TV show ‘Family Guy'. The Surfin Bird Facebook Campaign is aiming to once again gazump the X Factor winner but bookies think it may have to settle for Christmas Number Two as you can get 10/1 with Boylesports and Victor Chandler despite Paddy Power being a bit more confident offering just 6/1. If you are downloading Surfin Bird this week it would make sense to back Surfin Bird at 10/1 with either Victor Chandler or Boylesports.
Bookies Running Scared Of Matt Cardle But There Is Still Time For An Upset
Although there is still a good few days left the bookies think X Factor winner Matt Cardle could get things back on track for the X Factor after last year's upset, two weeks ago the X Factor winner was closely matched with The Trashmen with the X Factor winner around 4/6 and The Trashmen just 9/4 with some bookies, but Matt Cardle has been well supported and is now just 1/16 with Victor Chandler and William Hill.
