Facebook Campaign Hoping To Land The Christmas Number One For The Pogues At Big Odds
Wednesday 15 December 2010 at 16:29
Facebook campaigners are hoping to once again deny X Factor the Christmas Number One spot despite X Factor winner Matt Cardle being long odds on to bring the Christmas Number One back to the X Factor. Rage Against The Machine were last year's Christmas Number 1 thanks to the Rage Against The X Factor campaign and it's possible history could repeat itself.
Facebook Fairytale A Big Price With The Bookies
The Fairytale of New York - Christmas Number One Mission campaign on Facebook has been drumming up support to get The Pogues' Christmas classic to be Christmas Number One this year. That would represent some achievement considering the song only got to number two when it was first released in the UK in 1987. It has entered the chart seven times since, positions ranging from 3 to 36. William Hill are offering odds of 33/1 about the Pogues finally getting their Christmas Number One, the bookies clearly think that with a few popular Facebook campaigns spreading the X Factor hate between several songs that they may miss out. As good an incentive as any to download The Pogues though is to back them at 33/1 with William Hill and hopefully have a big priced Christmas winner.
Another popular Facebook campaign is trying to get The Trashmen's Surfin Bird to number one for Christmas and that is currently the second favourite in the Christmas Number 1 Odds at 10/1 with Victor Chandler and Boylesports, bookies think Matt Cardle the X Factor winner will end up with the Christmas Number One as he is just 1/16 with William Hill. There is still plenty of time to cause an upset though, for all the latest Christmas Number 1 Betting Odds click on any of the orange bookie links above.
