Oscars 2011 Betting Odds For The Social Network And Colin Firth Shorten After Golden Globe Results
Monday 17 January 2011 at 10:42
There was a shake up in the Oscars 2011 Betting Odds last night, after the Golden Globe results there were changes in the Oscars Best Picture Odds, the Oscars Best Actor Odds and the Oscars Best Director Odds amongst others.
Colin Firth A Short Price To Win More Awards
Colin Firth won Best Actor as many expected at the Golden Globes, it was already thought he was a shoe in to win the Best Actor at the Oscars 2011 but this has only strengthened his position as favourite, he is now as short as 1/20 with Bet365 to win but you can still get 1/12 with SkyBet. James Franco is next best at 12/1 with Bet365, ahead of The Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg who is 14/1 with Bet365, who offer up to £200 in free bets to new customers. That may be one of the few categories that The Social Network misses out in, the film about Facebook was the big hit at the Golden Globes and should be again at the 2011 Oscars.
The Social Network Expected To Be The Big Winner At The Oscars
The Social Network won Best Drama Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Original Score at the Golden Globes and shortened in all of the corresponding categories in the Oscars 2011 Odds. The Best Picture at the Oscars is one of the most prestigious prizes, The Social Network is down to a best price of 4/11 with SkyBet down from evens less than a month ago, whilst David Fincher is expected to win Best Director for the film at just 1/10 with SkyBet and William Hill, that has more than halved in price since the Golden Globe results were announced.
