Kings Speech Oscars 2011 Odds Proving Popular But Social Network Likely To Win More
Wednesday 26 January 2011 at 11:13
Most of the Oscars 2011 buzz has been about two films, The King's Speech and The Social Network and the Oscars 2011 Betting Odds suggest they will be the two big winners from the Oscars in a month's time on February 27th.
Colin Firth And Natalie Portman Hot Favourites
The King's Speech has probably been the most talked about film from the last twelve months, a lot of the hype has been about Colin Firth's brilliant performance as King George VI and he looks an absolute shoe in to be crowned the best actor, you can get best odds of just 1/12 with SkyBet and Firth is way ahead of 127 Hours star James Franco who is 14/1 with Victor Chandler and also Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg who is 20/1 with Coral. Another short priced favourite is in the Oscars Best Actress category, it is expected Natalie Portman will win that for her role in Black Swan, she is just 1/6 with SkyBet at the moment.
Social Network Expected To Come Out On Top
In a head to head battle it looks as though Social Network will come out on top in the ‘big six' awards, Social Network is hot favourite for two of those awards and probably the two most prestigious awards at the Oscars, Best Picture and Best Director. The Social Network is a reasonable price in the Best Picture Odds, you can get 8/15 best price with SkyBet, Kings Speech is not far behind at 7/4 with William Hill and Coral. It looks as though Social Network director David Fincher is certain to get Best Director, he is just 1/12 with SkyBet and Coral for that award ahead of Tom Hooper, director of The Kings Speech, he is 9/1 with Victor Chandler. Paddy Power make The Social Network just 1/5 to win more of the main six awards than The Kings Speech which is 3/1 to beat The Social Network.
