Next Sheffield Wednesday Manager Betting Odds Make Gary Megson Favourite After Alan Irvine Sacked
Thursday 03 February 2011 at 09:39
Next Sheffield Wednesday Manager Betting Odds are now available after Alan Irvine was sacked on Thursday morning and the early Next Sheffield Wednesday Manager Odds make Gary Megson the early favourite to land the job, although several candidates seem to have a good chance.
Out Of Work Managers Targeted By Sheffield Wednesday
Gary Megson, who has not worked since leaving Bolton in 2009, is the current favourite in the Next Sheffield Wednesday Manager Odds, he has been a great success at this sort of level and would appear to be a sound appointment if given the job, it is therefore no surprise to see Victor Chandler offering just 6/4 on the former West Brom and Nottingham Forest manager being handed the job. Clearly his main rival at the moment looks to be Iain Dowie, who has also spent some time out of the game. Dowie had a brief stint at Hull at the end of last season but has been working more on the media side of the game, he is clearly wanted by Sheffield Wednesday and is 9/2 with Victor Chandler.
Gary Johnson And Nigel Worthington Well Fancied
Gary Johnson and Nigel Worthington appear to be the best of the rest in the betting, Gary Johnson would be an interesting choice having done brilliantly with Bristol City, he won't look back on his time at Peterborough so fondly though and he will be keen to get back into management, he is 8/1 with Victor Chandler ahead of Nigel Worthington who is 10/1, whether or not he would leave Northern Ireland is the big question. At bigger odds bets to consider would be Alan Shearer and Dennis Wise who are both 12/1 with Victor Chandler and also Chris Hughton who is perhaps overpriced at 20/1 with Victor Chandler.
