Champions League Odds Still Make Barcelona Favourites Despite Arsenal Loss
Thursday 17 February 2011 at 11:53
Champions League 2011 Betting Odds favourites Barcelona were beaten by Arsenal on Wednesday night but the bookie still think they are the team to beat in the competition and that they will progress with a win at the Nou Camp in three weeks time.
Barcelona Expected To Go All The Way Still
Most bookies even left Barcelona's odds unchanged, under the assumption that a 2-1 loss at the Emirates Stadium isn't that bad a result, even a 1-0 win for Barcelona in the second leg will see them through and they are just 2/7 with SkyBet to win that game. Barcelona are still a pretty short price to win the Champions League this season, they are 11/5 with SkyBet and Betfred, well ahead of Arsenal who are down to 16/1 with Stan James and William Hill.
Real Madrid Better Fancied Than Chelsea Or Man Utd
The Champions League is heading back to Spain according to the bookies, not only are Barcelona favourites to win it but Real Madrid are second favourites to win at 9/2 with Stan James, Jose Mourinho has a great record in the competition having already won it with Porto and Inter Milan. The next four teams in the betting are English, Chelsea are next best at 11/2 with Stan James, Man Utd are a generous looking price of 8/1 with Victor Chandler and SkyBet whilst Spurs are the same price as Arsenal at 16/1 with Bet365, who offer up to £200 in free bets to new customers.
