Next Coventry Manager Betting Odds Make Steve Harrison Early Favourite To Replace Sacked Aidy Boothroyd
Monday 14 March 2011 at 10:33
Aidy Boothroyd was sacked as Coventry City Manager on Monday morning and the bookmakers have reacted quickly by offering Next Coventry Manager Odds. The latest odds suggest Steve Harrison could be the one but it is very early on and there are usually many changes in these next manager betting markets.
Ex England Coach The Early Favourite
Steve Harrison is a general early favourite with the bookies, Paddy Power have him at just 3/1 whilst SkyBet go 6/1 at the moment. Harrison is the current caretaker manager at Coventry and also held that position after Chris Coleman was sacked in May 2010. Having been on the coaching staff for the England team before he is clearly well regarded and could be an easy appointment for Coventry. A couple of other names that are popular in the betting include Dion Dublin who is also 6/1 with SkyBet, the popular former player could prove a shrewd bet whilst Sam Allardyce is 6/1 with SkyBet but will surely be holding out for a Premiership job.
Di Matteo And Hughton Linked But Strachan The Pick Of Big Odds
At slightly bigger odds you could get 7/1 with Victor Chandler on Roberto Di Matteo, he did a good job with West Brom and if Coventry can attract Di Matteo to the Ricoh Arena he would be a good appointment. Chris Hughton is yet to return to management since being sacked as Newcastle manager, he is quite well fancied by all the bookies and is a best price 12/1 with Victor Chandler whilst an interesting selection at bigger prices could be ex manager Gordon Strachan, who looks very big at 16/1 with SkyBet considering Victor Chandler offer just 8/1 on the former Celtic manager's chances.
