Cheltenham Festival 2011 Betting Tips For Day One
Monday 14 March 2011 at 17:10
The Cheltenham Festival 2011 gets underway on Tuesday with seven quality races and there is the usual mix of hot favourites and wide open races for us to pick out our Cheltenham Festival 2011 Betting Tips for the first day of the Festival.
Ghizao Looks Good Value In The Arkle
The Cheltenham Festival kicks off with the Supreme Novices Hurdle and in this race one of the hottest favourites of the entire week, Cue Card. He will begin the day at around 2/1 with most bookies and he could well be further backed throughout the day, he certainly looks to have everything in his favour and is a very solid favourite. In the next race, the Arkle, we could see the next Master Minded or Big Zeb, who both compete in Wednesday's Champion Chase, the favourite for this is Medermit at around 3/1 but Ghizao may have too much speed for him, he looks worth backing at around 4/1.
Bensalem Worth A Bet With Faller Insurance
The big handicap of the day takes place at 14.40, Bensalem is once again well fancied having fallen in the race when going well last year, his jumping is always a bit suspect so he should be worth backing at Victor Chandler, who will refund all fallers throughout the Festival. The Champion Hurdle is the highlight of day one, Hurricane Fly will get plenty of Irish support but having never run at Cheltenham before he could be one to take on, Menorah or Peddlers Cross look more solid options in that race.
