Epsom Derby 2011 Odds Make Carlton House And Pour Moi The Hot Favourites
Tuesday 31 May 2011 at 11:15
Saturday’s big race is the Epsom Derby 2011 and the latest odds make Carlton House the hot favourite ahead of Pour Moi who is an interesting French raider for the race. There is added spice this year in the Epsom Derby 2011 Betting Odds and it could be the most popular renewal of the Epsom classic in years.
Carlton House Could Be Most Popular Winner In Years
What makes this year’s Derby so special is the fact that the hot favourite, Carlton House, is owned by Her Majesty the Queen. This means the favourite, who is normally very well backed in most Derby renewals with the once a year punter, is bound to be even more backed than usual so the 6/4 on Carlton House, who won the Dante Stakes at York (usually the best Derby trial) could look very big on Saturday. The horse who has emerged as the biggest threat to Carlton House is French raider Pour Moi, who trainer Andre Fabre recently described as his best hope of winning the Derby yet. Pour Moi looks an outstanding horse in the making and 9/1 with Boylesports amongst others could yet prove outstanding value.
Seville And Native Khan Interesting Each Way Bets
The bookies are currently unable to separate Recital and Seville at the moment as both can be backed at 7/1 with most bookies at the moment. Recital looks a solid contender but Seville’s form with the favourite Carlton House means he cannot be taken lightly and he could be the one for each way punters who are looking to get a bit more value than the 6/4 on Carlton House. Seville has his work cut out to reverse form with Carlton House but last year Workforce turned the Dante Stakes form around with Cape Blanco at Epsom so these things do happen. Another who looks a decent each way shout is Native Khan, he ran well in the 2000 Guineas and should be suited by the step up in trip, he brings very solid form to the plate and is interesting at 11/1 with several bookies.
