Next Aston Villa Manager Odds Make Mark Hughes Favourite To Replace Gerard Houllier
Tuesday 31 May 2011 at 11:52
Gerard Houllier has apparently left Aston Villa by mutual consent and this has led to a huge increase in interest in the Next Aston Villa Manager Odds and the most likely replacement at this stage appears to be Fulham boss Mark Hughes.
Mark Hughes Well Backed to Replace Houllier
Mark Hughes has only spent one season in charge at Fulham and after a quite poor start they finished well and achieved a near mid table finish. That is something Hughes can build on if he stays but it looks like he might be set to move to a ‘bigger’ club as he is the hot favourite in the Next Aston Villa Manager Odds, he is down to 6/5 with Blue Square and 888Sport and has been very popular early on in the betting. The other manager who has been well backed is Everton manager David Moyes, he is down to 3/1 with Bet365 and SkyBet. Moyes may be thinking he has taken Everton as far as he can but Aston Villa may be a sideways step and it is questionable as to whether he could achieve more at Villa Park, he may hold out for a job such as Tottenham.
McAllister Looks A Huge Price Currently
Rafa Benitez has said that he is interested in a return to the Premiership and he has already been linked with Aston Villa, he would be the second successive ex Liverpool manager to take over after Gerard Houllier and he is interesting at 8/1 with Bet365 as SkyBet have him at just 11/8! One candidate who looks to be overlooked by the bookies at the moment is Gary McAllister, who has been in charge at Villa since Houllier’s health problems began. Villa’s form improved under McAllister and it is quite surprising that you can get 33/1 on him with Blue Square and 888Sport, that surely has to be backed.
