Chris Hughton Next Birmingham Manager Odds Make Him Odds On Favourite
Wednesday 15 June 2011 at 09:48
Chris Hughton has been made the new favourite in the Next Birmingham Manager Odds and is odds on with one bookie but it may not be a done deal yet with newspapers reporting that there is a shortlist of six managers to replace Alex McLeish.
Hughton Now The Short Priced Favourite To Manage Birmingham
Chris Hughton is of course one of the names on the rumoured six man shortlist and he is now as short as 5/6 with Paddy Power having been heavily backed this week to become the new Birmingham City manager. Hughton won the Championship with Newcastle at the first attempt after they were relegated two years ago and he looks a sensible choice to replace McLeish, he can be backed at best odds of 6/4 with SkyBet and William Hill. Billy Davies is second favourite in the Next Birmingham Manager Odds despite not being on the rumoured shortlist, he can currently be backed at 5/1 with Bet365 after being sacked as Nottingham Forest Manager recently.
Zola And Di Matteo Proving Popular With Punters
The other five managers on the apparent shortlist at the moment are Gianfranco Zola, Roberto Di Matteo, Alan Curbishley, Dave Jones and Steve Cotterill. The most likely of those five managers to get the job according to the latest Next Birmingham Manager Odds is former West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola, he is rated at 6/1 with Coral and William Hill whilst fellow Italian Roberto Di Matteo, who has experience of taking teams up from the Championship, is slightly bigger at 8/1 with Paddy Power but is as short as 7/2 with one bookie. Steve Cotterill is 10/1 with Coral ahead of Alan Curbishley who is 12/1 with Coral whilst Dave Jones seems to be the least likely of the shortlisted managers as he is 16/1 with Bet365.
