Last year’s winner Overturn, who has since won the Chester Cup as well, is one of the favourites at 8/1 with Paddy Power but he is one of many that needs the ground to dry up plenty before Saturday, that comment also applies to Tactician who is 12/1 with Coral and will surely land a big staying handicap this season when the ground is on the firm side. An interesting contender is Harlestone Times who is around the 9/1 mark, he will be stepping up half a mile and although this sort of trip should suit it is still a bit of a risk in this sort of race. One horse who seems overpriced is Montaff, who ran well in a Group 2 over this distance last time out, he will relish any give in the ground and he can run into a place at 25/1 with several bookies.
