Irish Derby 2011 Tips And Odds Suggest Carlton House Can Justify Hype
Thursday 23 June 2011 at 11:01
The Irish Derby 2011 takes place at the Curragh on Sunday and it will be very interesting to see how well the Epsom form stands up with the third and second from the English equivalent currently the favourite and second favourite in the Irish Derby 2011 Odds.
Carlton House A Short Priced Favourite For Classic Glory
Carlton House went into the Epsom Derby as the hot favourite after winning the Dante Stakes impressively but that form has since been given a couple of knocks. Carlton House also had an interrupted preparation in the lead up to the Epsom Derby so better may be expected here but at 6/4 with most bookies Carlton House will be short enough for most punters. He is by no means guaranteed to reverse Epsom form with Treasure Beach, who was nabbed on the line at Epsom by Pour Moi, Treasure Beach is currently 7/2 with Sportingbet but just 9/4 with Totesport and he may just offer a little bit of value.
Native Khan Looks A Fair Each Way Shout On Sunday
Seville, who was behind Carlton House in the Dante Stakes and Epsom Derby has it to so to beat the favourite and he is rated at 6/1 with some bookies, a bigger threat could come from Native Khan who has run well in the 2000 Guineas and the Epsom Derby, he may get a bit closer if he is held on to for a bit longer so that his stamina holds out, Native Khan looks a fair each way bet at 9/1 with Boylesports. An interesting runner is the Irish 2000 Guineas winner Roderic O’Connor who steps up in trip, he is 10/1 across the board ahead of Memphis Tennessee at 12/1.
