World Cup 2014 Odds Make Brazil Favourites After World Cup Draw Monday 01 August 2011 at 10:32 The qualifying draw for the 2014 World Cup was made over the weekend and Brazil and Argentina remain the two most likely teams to win the competition but it is the European teams that are usually most affected by the qualifying draw and there are some very interesting groups this time around.
Spain And France Get Tough Qualifying Groups
The most likely European winners of the World Cup 2014 according to the bookies are Spain, who are currently available at 6/1 with Paddy Power and Stan James, but they have been drawn in the same group as France who have been pushed out to 33/1 with Victor Chandler after the draw. It is now presumed that France will struggle to qualify but it won’t be easy for Spain either so perhaps it would be best to wait until they have actually qualified to back them whilst if France make it through their odds will shorten dramatically. England received a fair enough draw, Montenegro being their toughest opponents, and they will surely shorten as the World Cup gets closer so take the 20/1 on England with Stan James.
Brazil The Favourites Ahead Of Argentina
Brazil and Argentina are the two favourites at the moment which is no surprise as they will be most at home in the conditions in Brazil. Fifteen of the nineteen World Cups have been won by teams playing in their own continent and six of those were won by the host nation so Brazil command the most respect at 4/1 with Coral whilst Argentina are a fair alternative at 13/2 with Coral. There will of course be challenges from the likes of Holland and Germany and out of the two it is Germany who look the better bet at 11/1 with Stan James. If looking for a trade for the tournament then Portugal look overpriced at 33/1 with Boylesports or Victor Chandler, they always seem to be one of the most solid performers at the major tournaments, will have no problems with the heat, and you certainly won’t be able to get 33/1 on Portugal when they are in the second round or quarter finals.
