Arsenal And Man City Drift In Betting After Champions League Draw
Friday 26 August 2011 at 10:13
The Champions League draw was made on Thursday evening and as is often the case, it was a favourable draw for Man Utd and Chelsea, but Arsenal and Man City didn’t look so lucky in the draw and as a result both teams have drifted in the Champions League Odds.
Man Utd And Chelsea Get Favourable Draws
Out of all the English teams the general consensus is Man Utd got the best draw (against Benfica, Basle and Otelul Galati) and they are now clearly the best fancied English team with the bookies, available at 15/2 with Boylesports, and they are also the best fancied team in the OLBG Tipster Competition attracting 12% of tips currently. Chelsea have also attracted 12% of the OLBG tips but are less fancied by the bookies, after they drew Valencia, Bayer Leverkusen and Genk they are now 10/1 with Stan James. Barcelona remain the favourites to win the Champions League and although they have AC Milan in their group they also have BATE and Viktoria Plzen, a whopping 38% of OLBG tipsters have gone for Barcelona and they are now just 2/1 with Totesport and Paddy Power.
Man City And Arsenal Could Find Life Tough This Season
Man City probably got the worst of the draw, life was always going to be difficult with them being placed in pot 3 and they will have to face Bayern Munich, Villarreal and Napoli, they were around the 11/1 mark but are now 14/1 with SkyBet and not one OLBG tipster has gone for Man City to win the Champions League. Arsenal have just 2% of the OLBG tips and although they should qualify from a group containing Marseille, Olympiakos and Borussia Dortmund they may struggle to win the group and that will give them a tough second round draw, that is why they are out to 25/1 with Victor Chandler to win the Champions League.
