Next Arsenal Manager Odds Make Jose Mourinho Favourite To Replace Wenger
Monday 29 August 2011 at 10:26
The Next Arsenal Manager Odds became very popular on Sunday night after Arsenal were beaten 8-2 by rivals Man Utd and the bookies reckon that Jose Mourinho is the most likely man to replace Arsene Wenger, who is now the second favourite to be the next manager to leave his post.
Mourinho And Guardiola Most Likely Replacements
The bookies reckon Steve Kean is almost certain to be the next manager to lose his job but Arsene Wenger is second best in that market at 5/1 with Victor Chandler, meanwhile SkyBet are even more sure that Wenger’s days are numbered as they offer just 3/1. At the start of the season Wenger was 50/1 to be the first victim of the sack race. So who replaces him if he goes? Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola are the joint favourites currently but the bookies don’t really seem sure judging by the huge odds available on every possible choice, Mourinho and Guardiola are available at 12/1 with Victor Chandler. If Arsenal go for a British manager they make Owen Coyle the favourite, he is 14/1 with Paddy Power and William Hill. Former Chelsea managers Carlo Ancelotti and Guus Hiddink would make good choices and they are 16/1 with Paddy Power and Victor Chandler respectively.
Bookies Think Arsenal’s Season Is Already In Tatters
Arsenal have picked up just one point from their opening three matches in the Premiership which leaves them already eight points behind Man Utd and Man City in the title race, they are now out to 50/1 with Totesport to win the league, they were just 12/1 at the beginning of the season. More worrying is their odds to finish in the top four, Liverpool are now already six points ahead of Arsenal meaning Liverpool are just 4/6 with Coral to finish in the top four whilst Arsenal are out to 15/8 with Blue Square (Spurs are out to 5/1 with Blue Square). Arsenal sit in 17th place at the moment in the Premiership and the 2500/1 on Arsenal being relegated is long gone but the bookies still think there is little chance that Arsenal will go down, you can now get 150/1 with Totesport but Bet365 offer a worrying 66/1.
