Martin O Neill Hot Favourite To Replace Sven As Next Leicester Manager
Tuesday 25 October 2011 at 09:51
Sven Goran Eriksson was sacked yet again on Monday night, this time from his job as Leicester City manager, the red hot favourite to replace the underachieving Swede is Leicester favourite Martin O’Neill and the rumours have it that he has already been lined up to take the job, the Next Leicester Manager Odds certainly agree.
Everyone Expects O Neill To Land Leicester Job
Martin O’Neill was the immediate favourite after Sven was sacked and it seems everyone wants to back O’Neill to return to Leicester where he made his name as a top class manager, O’Neill is as short as 2/5 with William Hill but Stan James are currently sticking their necks out by offering even money on O’Neill. The main obstacle with reappointing O’Neill could be attracting him down to the Championship but OLBG tipster zagreb doesn’t think that will be a problem:
“I think O'Neill will be tempted by the challenge of getting Leicester back into the Premier League, also if they get there he will have funds available to him. It would be a great move for the fans and I am sure the players would respond positively if he were to return.”
Billy Davies And Mark Hughes Disputing Second Favouritism
The bookies don’t completely agree on who the second best contender is but overall the second favourite appears to be Billy Davies who has been out of work since leaving Nottingham Forest after the playoffs, Davies has a great record at this level and is best priced 7/1 with Stan James. Available managers seem to be attracting all the support currently and there has been money around for Mark Hughes who is down to 4/1 with SkyBet but Ladbrokes remain stubborn at 7/1. There is a huge gap back to the next best contenders suggesting that the shortlist is no bigger than three managers deep, the likes of Alan Curbishley, Alan Shearer, Dave Jones and Gianfranco Zola can all be backed at 20/1.
