X Factor Fix Row Could Cost Amelia Lily Her Winning Chance
Friday 09 December 2011 at 11:06
There have been plenty of twists and turns in the X Factor this week ahead of the X Factor Final and this is undoubtedly the closest final ever on the X Factor. The only time the favourite in the betting has been beaten heading into the final was in 2007 when Rhydian was beaten by Leon Jackson and it is Little Mix who will be hoping history doesn’t repeat itself.
Amelia Lily Involved In Fix Row
The week started with news that music retailer HMV were selling the X Factor winner’s single by Amelia Lily which immediately caused talk of an X Factor fix. OLBG Tipster man o bong had a different take on this though:
"To be honest, i would be 99.9% certain that's a HMV publicity stunt only. On the flip side, it has probably ensured she doesn't win. Marcus still fav for me."
Publicity stunt or not it seems man o bong could be right about the negative effect on Amelia Lily, since then her odds have drifted and she is now the outsider of the three at 5/2 with Bet365 and the favourite to be the next act eliminated at odds of 11/8 with SkyBet.
Marcus Collins Backed But Little Mix Still Clear Favourites
The next bit of big news coming out of X Factor was that the acts would most likely be singing with their mentors on Saturday. This was seen as good news for Marcus Collins who is mentored by Gary Barlow who is undoubtedly the biggest draw out of the three remaining mentors. Marcus Collins was soon supported and became the second favourite to win, he can currently be backed at 9/4 to win X Factor 2011 with SkyBet and Stan James. Little Mix remain the favourites to win but will probably have the least popular mentor of the three singing with them so they are unlikely to get many votes from the ‘wow factor’ in that performance. Little Mix are 11/8 with SkyBet to become the first group to win X Factor, One Direction and JLS had previously lost in the final which isn’t a great omen for the favourites here but the favourites do have a very good record in the final.
