Neil Warnock Odds On In Next Leeds Manager Odds As Simon Grayson Sacked
Wednesday 01 February 2012 at 15:47
Simon Grayson was sacked as manager of Leeds on Wednesday afternoon and it seems there could be a quick route back into management for Neil Warnock who has been quickly made the odds on favourite in the Next Leeds Manager betting odds.
Neil Warnock The Strongest Contender For Leeds Job
Neil Warnock, who only left QPR recently, looks likely for a managerial return to Yorkshire as the next Leeds manager with best odds currently offered by the bookies of just 8/11 with Boylesports. Warnock is as short as 2/5 with Ladbrokes and William Hill and it is easy to see why the bookies fancy him so strongly, his talent seems to lie with getting teams out of the Championship (not necessarily keeping them in the Premiership) so he could be the ideal fit for Leeds for the time being. His closest rival for the Leeds hot seat could be Chelsea assistant manager Roberto Di Matteo, he got West Brom promoted a couple of seasons back and is the clear second favourite with the bookies at the time of writing, Di Matteo is trading as short as 9/2 with Bet365 but is 13/2 best odds with Paddy Power.
Bookies Disagree Over Steve Bruce’s Chances
There has been some early money for Steve Bruce to get another job soon after being sacked as Sunderland boss, he is also the man who the bookies disagree about most with SkyBet offering just 2/1 that Bruce becomes the Next Leeds Manager and Stan James and William Hill both offering 10/1. It’s been a while since he managed at this level though and Leeds may view Di Matteo or Warnock as safer options. Youth team boss Neil Redfearn has been placed in temporary charge of the side and it is no surprise to see his name near the head of affairs, Redfearn is the fourth favourite at 14/1 with Bet365, just ahead of Gordon Strachan who played for Leeds between 1989 and 1995, Strachan is 16/1 with Boylesports at the moment. Other managers who could be on the shortlist include Gus Poyet, Alan Curbishley, Paolo Di Canio and even David O’Leary.
