Best Oscars 2012 Bets And Tips According To OLBG Tipsters
Thursday 02 February 2012 at 10:50
The Oscars 2012 are just weeks away and we have short priced favourites in most categories, are they the best bets in the Oscars 2012 Odds or is there better value at bigger prices the film spectacular? Let’s see what the best OLBG Tipsters think of the latest Oscars odds.
The Artist Expected To Dominate 2012
Two of the most prestigious awards on offer are for Best Picture and Best Director and it looks as though The Artist is going to dominate these categories and many others. The Artist is a critics dream and the ‘arty’ films tend to do very well at the Oscars so it is no surprise to see The Artist is just 1/5 with Ladbrokes and Coral to win the Best Picture whilst the man behind The Artist, Michel Hazanavicius, is the same odds with SkyBet and Boylesports to win the Best Director. OLBG Tipster Imaginarium isn’t sure that the film merits those awards but he believes The Artist will dominate none the less:
“I think the best picture and director will go to the over-rated film 'The Artist'.”
Bigger Priced Tips For Best Actor And Actress
Best Actor and Best Actress are two other highly sought after Oscars and they are categories in which we can often get a few more shocks than in the Best Picture and Best Director. George Clooney is odds on to win Best Actor for his role in The Descendents (13/2 second favourite with Bet365 for Best Picture) and he can be backed at 8/13 with BetVictor ahead of Jean Dujardin (The Artist) at 7/4 with Ladbrokes and Brad Pitt (Moneyball) who is way off at 22/1 with Coral. As for Best Actress, there looks to be a great battle on the cards between Viola Davis for The Help and Meryl Streep for The Iron Lady, the pair can be backed at evens with SkyBet and 11/10 with Stan James respectively. Next best is Michelle Williams for My Week With Marilyn and despite being as short as 9/1 with Coral she is 16/1 with BetVictor. Daveoafc77 is opposing both the favourites in these markets and also fancies a big priced selection in one of the less popular Oscars:
“Jean Dujardin may be a decent punt for Best Actor at 7/4 and maybe Michelle Williams might be value at 16s (Best Actress). Best Foreign Language Film is sometimes a surprise so I might have a small bet on Footnote at 12s with Bet365.”
