Grand National Tips From OLBG Tipsters
Although many who use stats to find the Grand National winner use different criteria each year many of the same names seem to be popping up time after time on OLBG. Micko70 has put together an amazing statistical analysis on the OLBG Grand National Forum that has to be seen to be believed, assigning each runner a ‘score’ based on how well they fit each stats (sensible as it doesn’t rule out a horse who meets most stats perfectly but fails narrowly on one and the top five horses which he will be backing on the big day are as follows:
“Rare Bob - 40/1 (Various), Killyglen - 16/1 (Various), Black Apalachi - 40/1 (Corals & Hills), West End Rocker - 12/1 (Various), Sunnyhillyboy - 20/1 (Various).”
Stats Picks Throw Up Many Of The Same Horses
man o bong has also done some great work with the Grand National stats and his shortlist is as follows:
“WEST END ROCKER - KILLYGLEN - THE MIDNIGHT CLUB - RARE BOB - ALWAYS WAINING - VIC VENTURI - SWING BILL.”
That all means that three of the most popular stats picks are West End Rocker, Kilyglen and Rare Bob. One of the most popular horses on the OLBG Grand National Forum that hasn’t been thrown up by the stats is Giles Cross and his popularity on OLBG has been reflected in the betting over the past week (25s into 14s) but the ground is drying which is a negative for that selection whilst Flat Cap and Whippet has other doubts about the horse and thinks he is one to take on:
“My concern with Giles Cross is that he is a bridle horse that will not find anything when push comes to shove. At the end of the Haydock race he only just held off Neptune Collonges when he should have won by a few lengths IMO and has never struck me as a battler. Probably one to trade out of in running if he takes to the fences as he will travel as well as anything and I would prefer Le Beau Bai if it came up heavy.”
