Next West Brom Manager Odds Make Chris Hughton And Alan Curbishley Favourites
Monday 30 April 2012 at 15:23
With Roy Hodgson off to England the search begins for a new manager at the Hawthornes and the Next West Brom Manager Odds suggest that Chris Hughton and Alan Curbishley are currently high on the shortlist of replacements.
Chris Hughton And Alan Curbishley Are Early Favourites
Chris Hughton is the early favourite in the Next West Brom Manager Odds, he has done a great job at local rivals Birmingham this season and had previously performed well at Newcastle despite a very harsh sacking there. It wouldn’t involve a big geographical move which can often be a factor for domestic managers and Chris Hughton seems a very realistic choice for West Brom so it would be no surprise to see him appointed at odds of 7/2 with Bet365 and SkyBet. His main competition for the job at this stage looks to be Alan Curbishley who has been well supported for the West Brom hot seat. Curbishley recently threw his hat into the ring for the Wolves job when it came up so a Premiership job in the Midlands certainly appeals to the former Charlton and West Ham manager so expect to see more money for Curbs who can currently be backed at 6/1 with Stan James despite being as short as 7/4 with SkyBet.
Roberto Martinez And Steve Bruce High Up On The Shortlist
Next best in the Next West Brom Manager Odds are Steve Bruce and Roberto Martinez who are both available at 11/1 with SkyBet (Stan James make Martinez their 3/1 favourite for the job). Martinez would probably be a popular choice as he likes his sides to play good football and he could surely do better with more resources but he may stay with Wigan if they stay up as looks likely. Steve Bruce’s record is slightly tainted after being sacked as Sunderland manager but he remains a solid choice and he would surely at least be interested in this post. Other contenders at the moment at double figure odds include the likes of Michael Appleton and Lee Clark at 12/1 and 14/1 respectively with Stan James and they may appeal if West Brom look towards younger managers whilst Paul Lambert shouldn’t be ruled out at 18/1 with SkyBet but whether he would see this as a step up from Norwich or not is open to debate.
