Sad news that Sid Waddell has passed away. Me and my Dad used to sit and watch the darts and love his commentry. Darts won't be the same without him.

RIP Sid - darts will truly miss you.

A real legend of the comm box.

'When Alexander the Great was 33 he cried salt tears because there were no more worlds to conquer. Bristow is only 27"

Sid you really were a one off.

Such a shame, always thought he'd be back soon. He did some commentary on the premier league didnt he not long ago? RIP legend!

My favourite line he said was about Phil Taylor when he was thrashing someone as usual he said 'Taylor wouldn't give you his dandruff to burn on your bonfire!'

RIP Sid.

Always made me chuckle and brightened up the darts. A proper wordsmith.

Hear hear to all the above sentiments. I hope they organise a tournament in memory of him. That would be very a fitting and deserved tribute.

A big loss to darts. Sid was completely unique. I had the pleasure of chatting to him between rounds at a competition my company was sponsoring a number of years ago. A cheery, friendly guy.

RIP Sid - you'll be missed.

R.I.P. Sid Waddell - More than just a commentator, he did much for the use of the English language.
