5.35 Ascot Dutch Old Master
Despite a sprinting pedigree Dutch Old Master has been staying on in his two handicap starts over 7f as if a step up to 1m would suit. He gets that trip in the last race at Ascot on Friday.
Dutch Old Master has only run three times (all this season) and on both handicap starts he has finished within 3 lengths of the winner, running on all too late. Johnno, who finished 1.25 lengths ahead of him at Newmarket last time out won at Sandown the other week and with 14 runners lining up in an all 3yo contest at Newmarket it's safe to assume it was a pretty decent race. Despite not being beaten far DOM is able to compete off a 2lb lower mark on Friday. |

Ascot 3.55 - Lutine Bell
I wrote this horse down in my notes after Richard Hughes rode it and that day it was kept out the back never really put in the race and then made eyecatching headway and I knew then it looked like it was being kept for a decent race and that hopefully is today now Richard Hughes, is back in the saddle as he did not ride the last time his mate did Pat Dobbs, and the horse got upset in the stalls that day and was slow away and ruined any chance but, now Richard Hughes, is back in the saddle I think it is ready to win this decent race, wich it was second in this last year and I have been waiting for a while for this coming back out for this and it is my NAP it's better off at the weights with last years winner and should reverse the placings was staying on very strongly in this last year and can win this time and Macs power can chase Lutine Bell home. |

Call It On 3.20 20/1
Not a strong fancy but at the same time it must have a eway chance, Ran really
well when here last time in the Ascot stakes, he had them all at it 4F from home
and this shorter trip sure to suit better, hes capable off reaching the frame from
the mark and trainer been in good form with 3 wins and a place from last 5,
Spencer booked catches the eye a little as he can do 8st 5lb and rides a lot for
Simcock and usually rides the Dr's horses, so not sure why hes not on the fav,
he does however have a 2-2 record for Kirby and this has an outside chance, |

8:40 Pontefract - Xclaim @ 7/1 (5pt Win NAP)
"I am not one to usually touch maidens but Micky Hammonds Xclaim is very appealing to me today. So far he has made five starts without recording a win, all have come on the turf, he did not get anywhere near the winner in his first three starts with him finishing 8th (19 Lengths), 7th (13 ½ Lengths) and 12th (12 Lengths) with all three of these starts coming over a mile. His next run saw him drop down to 7f where although finishing 6th he was within three lengths of the winner on his handicap debut off a mark of 69, he then went to Redcar last time out dropping down 2lbs in the handicaps (67) but up in trip to 10f for the first time and he managed to finish 3rd of 11 and he was staying on towards to finish and the winner of that race (Gala Casino Star) who won off 68 that day has since been out to win again off 75 in a higher class race so that has to be seen as a positive. I believe that this trip will be the one which produces a win out of him, he was towards the rear last time out and had to come through the pack to make his move, never able to get on terms with the winner but I do not see anything against him today as good as that winner and therefor I believe that this will be the race which produces his first career win."

My Friday Selections
2.10 Woodlandsway, Hannon, has 2 horses here but he could do his usual trick and win with the bigger price one maybe and this one dident run badly last time considering it ran wide al the way around wich would not have helped one bit and will learnt since then and it was 7/2 that day now 16/1 today wich seems abit overpriced if ask me and Ryan Moore, in the saddle will do for me and I think has a good chance of outrunning it's price.
2.30 Great Run, Hannon has 2 runners in this race as well and thsi was not a cheap purchase and never got too see what it was capable last time because something went wrong and was pulled up basically straight away and although this look's the stables second string today looking at the prices I think has just as much chance as the other Hannon, runner it's unexposed can forget about last time we did not get too see what it can do and K T O'Neill, is a jockey I like and I will give it a chance today 8/1
3.20 Montaser, a short price favourite but I cant look past it, the horse stayed on well last time the front 2 clear and was doing it's best late on when just got uptoo win and looked the type who will improve now up in trip and does not carry alot of weight and I really think will be hard to beat I took the 5/2 I am happy with that.
3.55 Lutine Bell, have a look further up the forum for detail's this is my NAP
4.30 Street Power and Bravo Echo
Street Power look's like it has a decent chance at the weights today, the last time it ran at Ascot, it just lost out too Italian Tom, but Street Power, is weighted too reverse that form and has a cracking chance today and the other horse I think has a chance is Barvo Echo, at a big price it's better on the all weather than turf but too be fair it has not run on turf loads and the last time it did it was on soft ground wich maybe dident suit and shouldent be as soft as that today and because of it's very patchy record it isent very high in the weights, but ran very well in a class 3 in march at Kempton and if can translate that form to turf then I think will have a decent chance I took 28/1 could be a suprise big winner for Jimmy Quin.
5.05 Ellie In The Pink, should improve from it's last run wich it will have needed after a break and I have a funny feeling might run a big race today.
