Not too much Boxing this weekend with the next two absolutely massive ones for the sport, but a very intriguing all Scottish rematch takes place at the Kelvin Hall tonight with Paul Appleby and John Simpson battling for the Celtic super featherweight title. My write up is on the blog and this in my opinion is a classic pick'em fight.
Probably even more interesting is the chief support which sees Scott Harrison return to the ring for the first time in seven years.
I have write up's done for a few other fights this weekend, including for the Friday Night Fights bout in America between exciting Russian Ruslan Provodnikov and Jose Reynoso, however I won't be using it as there's not too much value.
Tomorrow night the biggest bill is the Golden Boy promotions card headlined by Bundrage v Spinks II, I will keep you posted on any tips I have for that one. _________________ Football and Boxing expert. |

the markets gone already from OLBG so cant do a write up for my Blog
But I can't split them really, neither have gone on to achieve much since the first fight so my bet would be 3/1 to NOT go the distance.
I have a feeling we might see a KO, neither have impressed of late and at the higher weight class the way they were throwing punches and not defending in their first fight, someone is tasting canvass! _________________ Love Outsiders...Hate Favourites

Awesome fight and awesome performance from Simpson, don't think I've called a fight as well all year. Appleby's defence was terrible, he takes too many shots, and I had a feeling Simpson would be refreshed up at 130, needed that move up in weight. Big chances out there now for John who's a real warrior, him v Buckland would be a superb fight. _________________ Football and Boxing expert. |

Great fight. Simpson looking stronger at the weight and it was a more mature performance, still could have problems against a decent body shot puncher. Appleby...too many wars I think and the fight came too soon. His future must be in doubt _________________ Love Outsiders...Hate Favourites

Nice picks guys, good fight, thought the tide might be turning and then Simpson came out and delivered the stoppage. Appleby is a very old 24 and after what should probably of been 3 losses on the bounce he should maybe consider packing it in, he's had a decent career but he's always going to be in these type of fights. He's a similar age to me and if I was in his position I think I'd hang them up, easier said than done though.
Didn't have a bet, probably for the best as I maybe would of edged towards Appleby because I wasn't sure how much Simpson still wanted it. Who is Buckland with? Hatton? Maybe Simpson vs Walsh more likely as both Warren fighters, no point in having a 3rd fight with Smith I guess, as Simpsons always likely to come off worse on the scorecards in a close fight. |

Buckland is with Hatton, he's supposed to be fighting Stephen Foster Jr, but hard to know when that will take place as Ricky doesnt have a TV deal anymore.
Walsh as you say is an easy fight for them to make, he's fighting on the Upton Park bill isnt he, but if he wins comfortably maybe that would be a good undercard fight for Burns v Mitchell. _________________ Football and Boxing expert. |
