I cannot believe that Usain Bolt is available at 8/13 for the men's 100m Gold Medal.
I know fellow Jamaican Yohan Blake is the current World Champion, but i am pretty sure that Bolt would have won that race if not for false starting.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another stand out bet for me is Frenchman Gregory Bauge to win Gold in the Mens Track Sprint in the cycling, currently priced at 8/11.
He is currently the fastest man on the track and as each nation can only have 1 entrant, Team GB have to choose whether to have Olympic Champion Chris Hoy or Jason Kenny who was recently beaten into 2nd place by Bauge in Melbourne after beating Hoy in the semi finals.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another Cycling bet that i like is for the Current World Champions and World record Holders Team GB to win the Team Pursuit on the track, they beat Australia in the final at the recent World Champions in Melbourne in a world record time and can be backed at 10/11 to win Gold in London.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My 4th bet is for World record holder Rebecca Adlington to win Gold again in the 800m Freestyle, her main danger will be Lottie Friis of Denmark but Rebecca normally has the edge, she can be backed at 4/7.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will be crossing these 4 bets for trebles and a fourtimer, if i can get these prices from the same bookmaker then the minimum odds for a treble will be just under 7/2 meaning a small loss if only the 3 worst prices win.
The fourfold pays just under 15/2, plus the trebles which would give me a nice profit |

| I'm fed up already of hearing the words 'Team GB'. Many of the events are individual events not team and you are representing your country GREAT BRITAIN,that should make you proud having that on your chest not teamGB, how many other countries are calling themselves 'team' pass me the sick bucket. |

| Great Britains backroom staff seem confident that GB are going to do very well at London 2012. I am always keen on home nations outperforming expectations (although it didnt work at Euro 2012). Bet 365 go 1/1 that Great Britain exceed 62.5 medals. In Beijing we got 47. |

That's more than a 25% increase Nors, take some doing.
Hopefully we will meet all expectations (for a change) |

Why are Stan James & Boylesports still quoting Nesta Carter for the Mens 100m when he didn't even qualify for the Jamaican team - very poor show from so called bookmakers |

| I thought that the BOA/UK Sport target of only 48 GB medals might have affected the total medals markets but Bet365's evens of over 62.5 has been unchanged. 2 American websites (USA Today Medal Tracker and sportsmyriad.com) have been predicting the medal tables event by event based on world rankings, I think without putting any emphasis on home advantage, and they have GB winning 63 and 67 total medals respectively, of which 16 or 20 Gold. (possible disclaimer: sports myriad have Russia winning more medals than China which is either an inspired pick or invalidates their system...) |

Perri Shakes-Drayton, ultra impressive at Crystal Palace tonight has been well backed for the Womens 400m Hurdles (33/1 down to 11/2 ) _________________ If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?

there are 2 unbelieveable bets at the olympics.
1. Jamaica to win the 100m relay at 4/9. Before i could get odds for this i was expecting 1/20. They could read a paper have a fag half way round and still easily win this. They actually probally wont use Usain Bolt to the later rounds they have such a strong team.
2. GB to get less than 62.5 medals. We completely over achieved at the last olympics and still didnt get any where near amount. The bookies have totally got this one wrong. |

Here are the medal counts for Great Britain at the last 3 Olympics
2008 - 47 Total
2004 - 31 Total
2000 - 28 Total
That 62 looks very ambitious!
All statistics taken from Wikipedia.

olivergt..
Good info on medal count..
Wow only 47 in total in 2008, so we should beat that easily,
on home soil
Tennis Andy Murray to go close again.
Is F1 added in the olympics this year?
More later on.. |

I am a huge fan of the middle distance running and when i saw the odds for the 10000m was quite surprised with the odds on offer even though on form wise it might be a true reflection.
mo farah 2.37
kenenise bekele 4.30
tariku bekele 9.00
wilson kiprop 9.00
bedam karoki 9.00
There is others too but i think the gold is between this guys to fight it out.
Mo farah has been in great form since 2011 and deservedly a favourite but i have doubt's about his temparament and the pressure will be huge on him to deliver britian's first gold in this distance.I also think he has better chance in the 5000m race.
Tariku bekele the brother of the other bekele, wilson kiprop and bedam karoki is the darkhorses in the race and might surprise the crowd if they run more than what they are capable of doing.
Kenenise bekele is one of the best middles distance runner ever produced since paavo nurmi, zatopek and gebrselassie. He has been injured on and off since the last few years and that is why he is the 2nd fav in the race but as i can see in the odds on offer at books,He is not in the 5000m which he usually runs too.I can't find the conformed runners for the race but if the books is right then he might be only concentrating on this race.He would make history if he could win the gold for the 3rd time as no men as ever done that and i am confident he can do it if he is at least 95% fit because a 95% fit kenenise is still good enough to beat this field. He need to be in striking distance in the last lap and at 200m to finish i can see the famous kick from the great man that have destroyed many runners.
I already taken the bet on him |
