The loss of Karagounis is huge in my opinion. He's the heart of this Greece side and without him I think they will crumble. Greece tend to not show up in the first half, this could be over very early.

Greece are going to do what the Czechs tried last night against Portugal. I don't think the Czechs had a single shot on goal, did they? Germany are a class above the Greeks, but given the way this match is likely to be played, taking really short odds on a Germany win could be dicey.

I can see this being 0-0 till into the second half, but I think Germany will prevail in the end. bet365 are 5/6 for only Germany to score in the "How Many Teams Will Score" market. That's the equivalent of taking Germany to win to nil, but it's a slightly better price than that specific market.

That's the only bet I see tonight. Wouldn't bet Germany just to win at short odds. I don't think they got out of second gear so far, but this isn't the type of match they can open up in. They'll have to be patient, but Greece themselves won't be intent on pushing forward unless Germany score early.

Germany to win..

I think this be a tight game, certainly want go to extra time Yes .
But Germany will show their class , probably in 2nd half when the game opens up.
Greece done very well, to get this far, but they will do very well keeping
Germany score down.

Germany v Greece

looks like the Germans are treating this like a carling cup match and resting some first teamers, which is dis-respectful and arrogant :x

Greece excel at beating the odds and the odds on Germany are ridiculous.
Greece to win by the odd goal is tempting as thats what they do! If Germany score it will probably be through a defender or a set piece.
but i fancy this will go to penalties and it may pay to dutch both sides to win a shoot out!

Germany to win on penalties @14/1
Greece to win on penalties @18/1

samaras to score first @14/1
Schweinsteiger (free kick and penalty taker) to score first @14/1

im not expecting an exciting game! No

there don't seem to be any value in the result market or goalscorers market but i think the best bet of the quarter finals lies in this game...
UNDER 2.5 GOALS 10/11
Greece will look to keep the germans out and hope they can nick a goal somehow, or they will probably be happy enough to take it to penalties as they are major underdogs. Germany however seem to be underestimating greece and look like theyre going to rest a few of their best attacking threats so under 2.5 goals seems to be screaming value at just under evens

It not a bad move really, podolski and muller have been poor, but feel for Gomez who is leading the charts and had a cracking chance to increase it and feel sorry for backers of him

The good thing about these changes are Reus and Schurrie are quicker then Podolski akd Muller amd more direct and better one on one so Germany should he more threatening now but if one of them bags a hat trick how can you drop them

Ozil makes Germany tick and been outstanding so far and due a goal no doubt and at 4/1 for him to score and Germany to win ill have some of that

I've just read that Klose started 6 times for Germany in qualifying and scored the first goal of the game in 5 of the 6 games!

Around 5's on Betfair.

The Greek lines may be hard to breach and it may take a long range effort to get through them so step up Schweinsteiger, 23 goals in 90 matches and even though he is more of a defensive midfielder he may get more time up front as Germany should have a lot more posession and he may be willing to shoot if the chance arises and @ 14/1 I think he is worth a ping.
