STOP SELLING ALCOHOL

But that just means the minority of idiots win, why should the ordinary normal people who like to go and have a few drinks and a punt be penalised by the idiotic morons that cant have a drink without wanting to thump somebody.

Far better they are tazered and then birched Yes

racing cant afford for this to happen - it will put off LOTS of people from going racing and racing needs people to come racing to afford to survive..

if they look to stop selling alcohol they would have to double race entry tickets among other things to survive...

all courses make alot of money from selling beverages at as casino55 put it - "pricey" prices..

i was at york on saturday paying £3.90 a pint.. in a plastic cup!

Yes agree OT, they could then have neat alcohol rubbed into the wounds to help the healing process, might sting a bit at first though Cheeky

Booze is not the reason, sometimes it can be for some but some don't need
it to start fighting over football, two sets of rival fans, they could well of
known each other which is why it kicked off..not much you can do to stop it
under those circumstances ..Shame its happening on the racecourse ..

The racecourses are charging top prices nowdays.

Admission, food and drink prices are sky high with the courses making big profits out of this but...

They have none or very few police on duty within the courses and as it was stated on Saturday the police had to be called to deal with this trouble

Surely it would have been broken up a lot quicker if police had of been on duty when the trouble first started.....

It seems to me that a lot of courses just dont put the genuine publics safety as a priority especially when they know that they will have big groups of blokes attending weekend and big day fixtures.... No

What a set of W*****s! Bunch of idiots windmilling, probably no idea what they are fighting over....

Do Newbury not pay for Police? There was some bother at Beverley last week which the Police sorted in the blink of an eye, and it didn't ruin the day.

And they get rewarded with all the biggest and best races getting switched from midweek to Saturdays and Sundays, whilst "real" racing fans stay away for all the above reasons.

Nothing like looking after your own is there. But what can you expect, as with every sport these days, Fans dont count, only pound notes register any form of interest

Bring back the stocks and lock them in so they can have rotten fruit thrown at them - I don't think they would start any more fighting if that were to happen. Also it may keep that sort away from the races as they are not needed

give them a lifetime ban from racecourses, abit like pub watch and also a hefty fine wont go amiss and also name and shame them in paper so that every one knows who the idiots are.
