Haajes, looks a good thing today lads with Hazelrigg, a saver in the 2.30 race it shoud be between them they have the far best from on offer behind Judge and Jury, at York earlier this year and Haajes, is alot better at the weights today with a claimer helping it out even more. that Haajes wins and a small saver Hazelrigg wich is the only danger for me |

After mentioning Johnston's form, I think this is a real chance for him to get a winner, with Opt Out; horse was very very unlucky last time when losing it so late and Mrs Stubbs isn't in great form either, with no winners in June and not many sent to the track so far in July. Fanning rides Opt Out today, who could possibly preserve the horse's energy better, moved well for 99% of the race last time.

I still get the feeling that Moore wouldn't be wasting his time on the top weight if someone didn't think it was capable of at least placing.
That certainly appears to be a view shared by one or two people, so its hard to dismiss off hand!
However, I'm not sure what other options he would have in this race anyway; possibly the Hannon second string? But even with that O'Neill appears to be his regular partner?

Either that horse just does not stay 5f and will never win a race, or Johnston's horses are simply in really, really bad shape.

Would be careful with Johnston's runners, it's a huge operation and they're all spread around different 'yards' - he's had a fair few hitting the crossbar over the past week or so, and while it may be 40+ runners since a winner but the Johnston yard going that long without a winner is a lot different from a small yard going 40+ runners without a winner. It won't be long til he gets a winner. Opt Out did exactly the same at Newcastle last time as he did today, just doesn't quite stay the 5f on testing ground when forcing the pace.
