The following competition is simple. There will be one race picked at random each day and you have to try find the winner. Although with this comp rather than just typing the name of the horse you think will win you have to write up why you think they will win aswell. Anyone who doesn't put in the effort and writes something like "I fancy X to win because he is white and they are faster", "I like his name", "my friend told me so" etc. etc. won't be considered nor will any copy + pasting from other sites. YOU MUST INCLUDE AT LEAST 4 SEPERATE POINTS ON WHY YOU FANCY THE HORSE.
So what we're looking for here is for you to look at the race and come up with a selection. Then post the name of the horse and write a few lines which must consist of more than 30 words with at least 4 seperate points on why you fancy it and that's it.
* If you want you can enter a second selection (must have write-up also) just in case your first choice turns out to be a non-runner and you don't have time to post again.
* If a race hasn't been posted by 6:00pm the night before then anyone can pick the race - the first one posted on the thread will be the selected race.
* You may not edit your post at any time. If your selection is a non-runner then just make a new post in the thread with your new pick.
* In the case of a selected race not going ahead due to a meeting being abandoned / unforeseeable circumstances then there will be two races selected for the following day instead.
SCORING SYSTEM
1st = 20pts + 3x SP
2nd = 12pts + 2x SP
3rd = 6pts + 1x SP
4th = 4pts
5th = 2pts
To encourage people to look away from favourites aswell there will be bonus points for the price of the horse as shown above. This means that if someone picks a 2/1 horse that wins they will get 26pts (20 for winning and then 3 times 2/1 is 6 -> 20+6=26) while if someone picks a 10/1 shot that comes second they will get 32pts (12+20=32).

Wednesday 1st December Kempton 530.
I Will start the Month off with Whatyouwouldwishfor
Was Trained By R fahey has now swiyched to P butlers yard and ridden By Robert lucey butler.
Had some fairly decent runs for fahey including a win at 6f . Has not run since june but by all accounts if he goes on the surface should run a half decent race,
in his last run he finished 4th to sir mozart of barney curleys.
Which he was raised from 58 to 63 for
Drawn in stall 3 today should give him a good run up the inside which seems to be favoured at kempton. |

17:30 Kempton
One of the better races on the Kempton card tomorrow and a possible fight for top honours between two of Sunday’s competitors in Nacho Libre and Dvinsky. The Easterby runner, Nacho Libre recorded his third all weather win and his second at the course when staying on under persistent pressure by jockey Graham Gibbons to go on inside the final furlong in taking the honours on Sunday. It was a performance worthy of a six pound rise but I question my self whether the booking of Jamie Spencer is as strong as that of Gibbons in a finish and the drop back in trip a furlong could prove to also be a slight negative. The selection, Dvinsky from the Howling stable is a fairly strong decision choice given his recent seven furlong form at the track as well as his very handy draw with positives also covering jockey booking of Jimmy Quinn and the return to six furlongs. Although the stable as yet to see the winners enclosure over the past fortnight, Howling’s runners are running creditably with a winner looking ever nearer in the pipe line.
DVINSKY
Good Luck All .....  |

Nacho Libre
I am taking Nacho Libre for the double. He has already won running over 7f back in January and won again this Sunday. It might be a little tough to defy his penalty but he still looks like one of the more stand out selections. With Jamie Spencer and M.W. Easterby in decent form, I will be taking on Nacho for the win.

MOGOK RUBY
Starting the month off with a big price runner, with this B Johnson trained six year old, who has just joined this yard from Montaque-Hall stable. Matter of fact this is the third time this horse has ran for his new trainer and has not shown anything in two races so far.
Has had plenty of racing, 44 outings on both codes of the flat scene, won three out of 29 races on the allweather.
MOGOK RUBY has raced in some fair handicaps and won in class four event on this course, compared to some of these thats is fair form, has never taken part in claimers or sellers which this gelding could show something on this course today as several of these have run in these type of races, putting good runs together is far and wide but could get to the front here from the high draw with Alan Kirby taking the ride for the first time. Lightly raced this term only seen the course four time so far, could strip fit for this handicap, six furlongs looks to be his distance as he has tried seven furlongs, with no joy. Comes from off the pace and if the gap appears when the running rail moves out on the home turn could prove a oppertunity to come through with a chance of a big run. |

Kempton 17.30
Katy's Secret: For trainer Willie Jarvis who had a great record of winners on the A/W last winter. Badly drawn in 2 . Started off its racing career at wolves coming an unfancied 2nd to well marked. Ran in 2 others maidens after that coming 8th & 3rd. Then sent handicapping and no less than Frankie D. booked for the ride finishing 4th to the excellent Catherines Call. Won NTO in a selling stakes at Southwell over 6 with todays pilot Tom Eaves so stamina is not the issue. Dissapointing run next and now off the track for 181 days. I doubt Jarvis would be running this if not fully fit & hopefully this 3 yr old bay filly will be ready tomorrow to show her trainer she is worth persisting with. Bit in & out of form but definitely has shown promise and should go off a decent price. |

Kempton 5.30
DOCTOR HILARY
One of the oldest horses in the race and has 41 runs underhis belt which have resulted in 6 wins. Chris Catlin who rides him this time has ridden him for 3 rides previously which have resulted in a win, a second and fourth places when beaten under a length each time. He does appear to bring out the best out of this horse. Fairly handicapped and drawn and from a stable whose horses are running well at present. |
