The following competition is simple. There will be one race picked at random each day and you have to try find the winner. Although with this comp rather than just typing the name of the horse you think will win you have to write up why you think they will win aswell. Anyone who doesn't put in the effort and writes something like "I fancy X to win because he is white and they are faster", "I like his name", "my friend told me so" etc. etc. won't be considered nor will any copy + pasting from other sites. YOU MUST INCLUDE AT LEAST 4 SEPERATE POINTS ON WHY YOU FANCY THE HORSE.

So what we're looking for here is for you to look at the race and come up with a selection. Then post the name of the horse and write a few lines which must consist of more than 30 words with at least 4 seperate points on why you fancy it and that's it.

* If you want you can enter a second selection (must have write-up also) just in case your first choice turns out to be a non-runner and you don't have time to post again.

* If a race hasn't been posted after the selected race, please feel free to do so. The race for that day must be completed.There is no time schedule

* You may not edit your post at any time
. If your selection is a non-runner then just make a new post in the thread with your new pick.

* In the case of a selected race not going ahead due to a meeting being abandoned / unforeseeable circumstances then there will be two races selected for the following day instead.

* When selecting races, please refrain from MAIDENS/NOVICE events including BEGINNER CHASES as these can be difficult in placing a reasoning to.

* HANDICAPS and HIGHER CLASS races are the ones preferred.
1st = 20pts + 3x SP
2nd = 12pts + 2x SP
3rd = 6pts + 1x SP
4th = 4pts
5th = 2pts

To encourage people to look away from favourites aswell there will be bonus points for the price of the horse as shown above. This means that if someone picks a 2/1 horse that wins they will get 26pts (20 for winning and then 3 times 2/1 is 6 -> 20+6=26) while if someone picks a 10/1 shot that comes second they will get 32pts (12+20=32).

PRIZES

1st= £10

2nd = £5

Put this up early, so selected race for Tuesday can be picked on Monday after the selected race for this day has finished, as I will be working late on Monday.

Sutton Veny 20:05 Kempton

All ready chose this race for my self and come up with Sutton Veny. Sutton Veny. Ran well here back in 2009 / 2010. Won 5 times out 29 runs 4 of the wins here but best runs where back then. Been running constantly good this year and a good 4th here at this track 2 runs ago and 1st time since 2010. Only beat by a neck as well but was the 4/1 fav but trying all the way even when under tiering. A kirby has ran this for last 3 times but jockey change tonight of R L Moore who has ridden this horse back on 21st of may 2011 at Haydock and came 3rd. Same weight and distance and also runners in the field at the moment has when the good 4t 2 runs back. After only running here 1 time since all the good runs back in 2009/2010 and running well 2 runs back looks like he good start having 1st again today. EW

Last Sovereign

Has 18-3-3-3 record in AW. All 3 wins here at Kempton which includes a distance (6f) win.

Overall good run this season getting 1 win and 2 thirds from 5 starts.

5lb claimer, Justin Newman takes the ride for the first time on Last Sovereign as well for the stable. Although he shows poor record in AW, I think he'll manage to win this race.

Ollie Pears stable in average form this season finding only 1 winner from 17 AW starts. But Pears got good record with Last Sovereign achieving 2 wins, 1 second and 2 thirds from 14 starts.

Last Sovereign, 8yo, will be running with blinkers as usual. Weighs at 9-2 and has mark of 80. Will be starting from stall 9. I think he will be able to handle the pressure from Hinton Admiral and Lastkingofscotland.

We Have A Dream

He has ran the majority of his races in class 3 or higher last season where he has a strike rate of 0-29, but today sees him drop in grade to class 4 where last season he won twice and was beaten by a snotty nose from only 4 runs at the grade, the exception was 1st time out and he is not a horse that goes well fresh so that run in exonerated. He has 1 win and 2 2nds at the track from 6 runs so I don't believe there is any problem at the course. At Kempton over 6 furlongs it is better to be drawn low and 4 out of the 5 horses currently getting quoted single figure odds have all got the outside draw which means I believe there is quite a bit of value to be had in this race and see my draw of 3 an ideal place to be. W Muir form at the beginning of this season is a major worry, but on his last 2 days of racing action he has had a winner and a 2nd which I have to hope means he is about to come into form.

SUTTON VENY

SUTTON VENY was really unlucky to get impeded sevceral times when trying to make headway and challenge the leaders but to be checked and could be ready to strike while the iron is hot. This all happened at Windsor 15 days ago with Adam Kirby in the saddle, today Ryan Moore is in the saddle and he will be waiting to make his move and hopefuly he will get a clear run for his mount and to be pushed forward into a challenging position for a big run. Ryan Moore can be strong in a finish but on the bad side if he thinks he can not win he can lose a place position. When a mare is ready to run they can be at their best and worthy of some interest. Has won over course and distance which was in a class 3 race back in 2010.
