Doncaster 15:20
Advanced
Ran well here 12 months ago finishing 5th off a mark of 90 with same claimer Daughter Amy on board with the 3lb off again. He is currently running off 94 and strangely enough both times has had a 158 day break. Last year, came with a decent late run but unfortunately was short of room near the finish and although not getting near the winner - he could of claimed 3rd. Ground is fine as has won off good ground and 6f. May find 1 or 2 too good today but will take that risk with current odds of 25/1.

Having at last weened myself off No Hubris , I was left the the standard problem - support or oppose Paul Hanagan. My SR on that front is virtually zilch , so I oppose Marine Commando with the utmost trepidation.
However , CONFESSIOIONAL is better than bare results indicate but attitude seems to get in the way of him fulfilling the promise shown.
He has been running at 5f or a bit further but is at least as good over 6f. His only win at this trip was on heavy ground so stamina is not an issue. He will act ( or act up ) on any ground and is reasonably drawn for a big field handicap.
A winner in this class last year , he was subsequently runner up to Marine Commando who he now opposes on 4lbs better terms for a neck defeat. Early season form for the last two seasons indicate that he should be physically up to running a good race - the question is , will his mind let him do so. |

CROWN CHOICE - 3.20 DONCASTER
Back down below the mark of his last win in a class 2 race at Goodwood and looks very well treated today. That win was over 6 furlongs like today and that may suit him better than the 7f he also contests given the quick ground. The form of the Wolverhampton race may be better than it looks and he wasn't beaten that far in his first race for this yard so I would expect better today. This is a shrewd yard and that may well have been just what he needed to be spot on for this. |

3.20 Doncaster - Marine Commando
Richard Fahey usually makes a blistering start to the turf season as shown with the Lincoln yesterday and his Marine Commando has course and distance form. Probably hasn't shown as much promise as hoped after winning the Windsor Castle Stakes at Ascot as a 2 Yr old and 6 furlongs seems to stretch his stamina to the limit but with Hanagan on board, the middle draw and riding with a decent weight I'll take him to bring these home. |

MARINE COMMANDO
He had a terrible run here LTO, but that was over the minimum distance. The extra 1f could be to his advantage. He runs off the same rating and carries the same weight. Hanagan has won on him, previously. He has won in Class 1 company, so should not be fazed by today's field. The ground should be OK and the middle draw should not be a problem. |

Doncaster 3.20
DOCOFTHEBAY
Could you have found a race with more runners than this but then some tidy points to pick up to kick off the month. Docofthebay it is then as he should still be race fit after being on the AW during the winter where he was not out of the comp points in Listed races. Won off a mark 10lbs higher in a Listed race in November. Ian Mongan on board who has ridden him several times and has won on him. Docofthebay either does incredibly well or absolutely terrible in these big races with his ratio of placings 11 to 8 not placed let's hope today is the good day and with the going again it is either very good or very bad. Good stall number in No 3. He just needs things to fall his way and I am in the points.
Good luck all |

DESERT LAW today may fun a decent race. Has a couple of distance wins so todays trip should be ok Andrew Balding can have his horses fit early and Jimmy Fortune aboard in my book is a plus.I think the draw and weight are ok and the horse can improve this season and has a great chance..
Thank You |

DESERT LAW from the Andrew Balding yard whose horses are running not to bad and the assistance of the in form Jimmy Fortune has to run a big race. has been gelded in the winter which has to be a good sign also, as to keep his mind in the right place. looks to be well drawn. this distance winner has a big chance _________________ ALL WEATHER RATINGS MK 2

DONCASTER 3.20
WILDCAT WIZARD
WILDCAT WIZARD RECORD: Progressive form for his new yard 0065. Last 11 starts were at today's distance achieving 2 seconds and 2 thirds. Comes fresh after 336 days break. He has 19-2-1-4 record on Turf. 6yo weighs 8-11 and got mark of 90. Will start from stall 12.
WILDCAT WIZARD @ DONCASTER: 1-3.
TRAINER DAVID NICHOLLS GB FLAT TURF RECORD: Disappointing start to the new Turf season. No wins or places from 4 starts yesterday. But can definitely bounce back.
WILDCAT WIZARD - TRAINER RECORD: 0-4. Best finish 5/24, just 2 1/2L behind the winner at New Market 336 days ago.
TRAINER @ DONCASTER: Last 5 seasons, 2% SR (3-128) with 4YO+ runners and overall 8% SR (8-167). Current season, 0-4.
JOCKEY NEIL CALLAN GB FLAT TURF RECORD: Current season, 25% SR (1-4) with 4YO+ @ LSP +9.00 and overall 20% SR (1-5) @ LSP +8.00.
WILDCAT WIZARD - JOCKEY RECORD: 0-1. Finished 5/24, just 2 1/2L behind the winner at New Market 336 days ago.
JOCKEY @ DONCASTER: Last 5 seasons, 11% SR (8-71) with 4YO+ @ LSP +11.80 and overall 9% SR (15-160). Current season, 20% SR (1-5).
TRAINER - JOCKEY GB FLAT RECORD: Last 5 seasons, 0-3. First start of this season.
OWNER THE ROCK & A HARD PLACE PARTNERSHIP GB FLAT RECORD: Joined racing in 2011 with Wildcat Wizard, their sole runner.
Compared to the Nicholls other stable runner's form in this race Swill Ferry, Fitz Flyer and Nasri, Wildcat's form is far much better and deserves a 2nd place finish atleast.

15,20 Doncaster
Joe Packet (GB)
Crowded race, very difficult, especially at so many runners, no clear favorite, that’s why I go for outsider choice, but looking at his palmares maybe a top three don’t look to be impossible, very good performance at today distance, highest results in palmares obtained at 6f distance, 4 wins from 5 in carrier, not good palmares in today C&D, two starts without anything positive. Today situation is very different of last year, when Bell/Hurley start as favorite with 5/1 SP, but show very good results at today class, involved and good result at superior class of race. |

MARINE COMMANDO
Richard Fahey could have his string forward enough to take a hand in this race this afternoon and has booked champion jockey Paul Hanagan to do the steering on this four year old who looks to be on a winnerable mark.
Last September he ran a gallent race to finish in second place behind Internationaldebut over course and distance and if showing the same attiude could once again finish in the top four and hopefully in first place.
With the running being done up the midle of the course yesterday, the stall 14 that he has to come from could be a good position to get competitive from and Paul can deliver a well timed challenge to get a good result for his old retainer. |
