DONASTER 3.20
IMPERIAL DJAY
Big prices prevailed in the big handicaps on day one, no real clues to any draw bias as in both the big mile handicaps, the jockeys congregated to centre field and overall, low numbers seemed to come out on top, whereas the 6f Listed race favoured those drawn high.
The last 3 runnings of this have been won by relatively short priced fancied runners drawn low, prior to that a 40-1 shot won from stall 1 and 3 of the last 4 winners were 4yo's, so Desert Law or King of Jazz will be fancied to turn the tables round for the punters.
The ones I like the look of don't fit any of the recent stats, a couple drawn high that could go close are Nasri & Swilly Ferry, also the Ian Mongan ridden Docofthebay but I'm going to side with the unlucky 13 stall, from which Imperial Djay will be coming out of.
Improved a lot last year, although he's won off a 1lb lower mark, he's still at the high end of his rating.
Most wins have come over 7f, so will need a fast pace from the start and if he can Lay up early, he should be staying on well at the finish.
Can run well fresh and last year he ran a close 4th in the 7f handicap, which precedes this race, has to go for the 6f race as he is too high in the handicap to get into this years 7f race. |

DONASTER 3.20
Nasri.....Does the footballer have a say in this horse another crazy way of picking for me ,
Nasri won twice last year on two different kind of tracks Musselburgh is a level sort of track where as Hamilton Park is a up and down the hill track with a stiff uphill finish , The horse is with its 3rd trainer in its short career when it started out as a 2yo back in 2008 for Brian Meehan yard went then to David Simcock yard before coming to David Nicholls yard last April where it ran here in its 1st race for dandy in this race finishing 7th it led going into final furlong dandy will have it fitter this year.
Jockey Darryll Holland onboard who's good in these big field races |

3.20 Doncaster
Nasri
Ran well in this race last year coming a 3l seventh of a mark of 92. Raced 8 times last season winning two class 2 races on soft and good ground. Has gone well fresh before. Usually a front or prominent runner, that can hopefully get into a good position today to win. Mark of 97 same as last win in penultimate race. Has raced over 6f in 8 of it's races winning 3 and in the frame on a couple of other occasions.
Trainer D. Nicholls in form with a couple of winners lately, and a S/R of 11% over the last couple of seasons. Jockey Darryll Holland had a S/R here last season of 26%, hopefully should go well.

Doncaster 3.20
DESERT LAW
This Andrew Balding 4yo is comparatively lightly raced and that is because he is a quality horse. He rarely rns a bad race and usually competes in this grade or higher grade races. His last 2 races being listed races although that at the time looked a step too far. Back in a grade 2 for a horse that runs well when fresh makes this an ideal opportunity. His handicap mark is the same as his last win (which was on good to firm ground at Bath), so the drying ground will help. He will not lack for assistance from the saddle as Jimmy Fortune is one of the strongest most forceful jockeys around at the moment. Based on yesterdays Lincoln, his draw in stall 8 should be the right side so it looks good for a big run. |

Damika
Has been a winner over this distance in the past and has also won on todays type of going. Although he hasn't won for a while, he has won on marks similar to todays and his last win came when running off a mark of 94, so todays rating of 88 is a winnable one. First run for new yard but retains the services of Michael Stainton, who has ridden the selections last 3 wins. |

Had a few days of here and now new month and refreshed hehe GL all
Swilly Ferry Doncaster 15:20
Not ran for 162 days and all that good last 2 runs coming 20th of 20th last 2. Last run ran was here and for last 3 times had attacthments with 1st time blinkers 3 runs ago back in August and came 3rd of 9th which was his 1st place in ages at 10/1 odds. Time out after this had the blnkers on again but didnt do the job like 1st time and last time out when last tried 1st time cheek pieces again didnt do the trick. Last Won back in 2010 at Newmarket in same class and distance as today winning £24924 and has won 3 times out of 26 and is up £6.25. Trainer B W Hills has mainly trained this horse but when 3rd 3 runs back C hills took over and did good 1st time out but then the last. Again new trainer today D Nicholls and is doing good for the season with 5 1st and 4 2nds and 3 3rds and up £8.75. Trying with no attachment today as last 2 times have been no good and horse is lowest weight he has been and 2nd lowest weight in the field today. _________________ I stake low on bets.

CROWN CHOICE
A lot of the ones at the lower end of the scales can be ruled out I feel as most of them are struggling for form at present
Crown Choice however is trained by Paul Midgley and this horse is 1 lb below his last winning mark which came just a year ago now and that was a career high win for him so there could be more to come as it was only last May when he won there off 94,
Today he races off 93 and Freddie Tylicki takes the ride, he rode him the last day but that was probably a run he needed to get him fit for this race,
He is drawn in stall 6 which looks very fair and I think we can expect a big run from this horse today, he is a consistent performer at this level and the handicapper has given him a slight chance off 93. |

DESERT LAW
Without doubt this is the class horse in the race, should be going on to group race company later in the seaon.
Based on yesterday has a good draw and the assistance of one pf the better jockeys round here.
All going seems to come alike and with the stable firing already should go very close. |

My Choice is Swift Rover
Although a long shot I believe he has an outside chance.
Has run well over 5 1/2 furlongs on Good / Firm and should get the extra distance.
as both Stallion / Dam best distance were over 6 - 7 f
Finished 2 1/2 lengths behind Desrt Law (which is Fav) over 6f Last Year and is now 14 lbs better off.
Is currently on his last winning mark.
David Evans is running a profit of 35 pds LSP this year with a 13% strike rate.
I am new to OLBG and loving it so far. Good Luck All |

DONCASTER 3.20
KING OF JAZZ
Won 1st time out last season, stable won the race last year. 1win from 2 races at donny. seems to be the right age for winner (4yolds won last 4 running) with new stable too hoping new surroundins see a return to form as last couple of runs tad disapointing. in wide open affair the king to reign? |

SWILLY FERRY
I always thought there was a big hcap in this horse when trained by the Hills but he was dissapointing towards the end of last season. The move to the Nicholls yard has got to be a plus with his record in sprint hcaps, his last win came off a mark of 96 so todays 87 looks very workable, jockey bookings suggest he's the most fancied of the stables runners and the draw of 22 will either be boom or bust. All his best form has been on good fast ground and the stable have been ticking over nicely in recent weeks.
Well done to all last months winners and another big thanks to meoldmate for his continued excellent admin (thats got to be worth a few sneaky extra points ).

King Of Jazz
First run for his new yard today, having left the Richard Hannon yard.
Has dropped a few lbs down the handicap despite some very good efforts last season.
Won the 7 furlong maiden on this card last year.
Most of his best runs have been on Good ground, he gets that again today. |
