There appears to have been plenty of money about this week for a few runners in the first big handicap of the flat season ' The Lincoln ' . Those at the head of the market Eton Forever - Fury - Cocozza & Edinburgh Knight have see their share of support - of those four I have always preferred Fury and had an interest @11/1 some weeks ago. Of the bigger priced contenders the one that struck me as a potential steamer is Light From Mars from the John Quinn stable - winner of the Spring Cup last season from a two pounds higher mark when under the care of Dandy Nicholls Light From Mars had a spin around Wolverhampton a couple of weeks ago beaten around 3 1/2L in seventh place behind Nazreef - an outing that is likely to have done him the world of good. Available @33/1 yesterday with the sponsors after the draw he is now no better than 20/1 - a price too that I expect to see shorten a bit more prior to race time ; interestingly Ladbrokes this morning have cut his odds to a clear industry shortest quote of 14/1 - I wonder how significant that may prove. Bet 365are paying FIVE PLACES so that's the place to go if you fancy him.
*** as I was typing this some other firms have now gone 14/1....

Light From Mars was my fancy last year... and Hugh Taylors actually... but I missed backing him again in the Spring Cup as I was on holiday.
It looks like I've missed prices on him again. _________________ "The problem with the future is that there are more things that could happen than will happen" - Plato (liberally paraphrased)

Despite the 16 runner field in what is often a competitive handicap - I think Ladbrokes have called the favourite correctly in The Rosebery by going only 2/1 for Eshtibaak and if you agree with me then the place to go is Stan James to take the top quote of 3/1 on offer..... it looks sure to shorten.... |

| I think Light From Mars may be a Pricewise pick in the morning - there has been bundles around for him tonight in the offices. |

I think REDVERS looks an interesting runner in the Spring Mile. His 3rd to Mia's Boy and Skilful last time out leaves him well treated. 20/1. _________________ www.twitter.com/MartynCarlisle2 |

Thank you for pointing him out tomorrow, I didn't notice. He's just overcome a set back since his last run and he is taking on a potentially smart horse in Balding Banker tomorrow so I wouldn't be steaming in to him but 4/1 (forecast) looks fair value. _________________ www.twitter.com/MartynCarlisle2 |

I've always thought Leviathan is best at strong run 7F with cut,
interesting horsenone the less, use to be a tracker horse |
