2.50 Southwell – Point At Issue (5pt Win) (NAP)
Flying Pickets is a three time winner on the flat with two of those coming on the all-weather, all three wins have come over 7f and his two on the all-weather have both come over C&D which he is 2-3 over, not the best of runs last time out at this level but is dropping in trip which will suit but a couple of negatives for me are that he is yet to win from four in the first four months of the year and he is also 0-7 and has not even placed when carrying 9-1 or more. One More Roman has let me down more than once in the past and today I am going against him, he is twice a winner on the all-weather and a previous winner over this trip but yet to win here at Southwell, he was runner up here over 6f last time out although well off the winner and his lack of any consistency puts him off him today. I am going with Dandy Nicholl’s trained Point At Issue for this one, this runner has won once from just five starts on the all-weather and that win came on his only previous run over C&D. That win came three starts ago when a very comfortable six length winner in a weak looking claimer and since that run he has gone on to finish runner up in another claiming here at Southwell over a mile and then a handicap here over 6f. Dropping back in class today for this run and back over 7f, this is just his second start as three year old with is only other coming in a class five handicap and for me looks as though here today he may be allowed to be given an easy lead and once out in front I believe he will be hard to catch and his two main rivals will have to make better starts than they did last time out so for me here today Point At Issue can make all and land this race.

4.30 Ludlow
Sohappyharry 22/1 e/w NAP
I really think Sohappyharry is over priced and can surprise Only lightly raced and quite consistent and got third to Poungach on debut and that horse has gone on to better things and improving plus only just beat by Oscar Whisky Sohppyharry was disappointing last time but got put in a very tough race and had no chance but had a few months off so maybe something was wrong but this is much easier and now trying handicaps for the first time and could be well in on debut here Won over hurdles on second start and got beat by a useful looking horse by Henderson last time but form looks good Likes the track and in two starts been first and second |
