A lot of close calls on monday,

Were you beaten a nose for a good payout?

Are there any you have put in the notebook for next time out?

having watched a few races after work the most eye catching one would be
2.40 REDCAR WATCH THE RACE (SUPA U) got a bad start settled and very badly hampered towards the business end of the race and finished like a train to finish second this one definately looks a smart 2 year old not sure what price your gonna get next time out but id say it could win a decent maiden on that evidence Win

Meoldmate posted 4.40 Brighton is the race of the day and Mick Channon saddles HIGHLIFE DANCER who could be ready to play a positive role on a track that could suit his style of racing.
Everything looks suitable, including the price of 18/1 with Bet365.
Has a low draw and did run off higher marks a while back now running off a mark of 56.

What happened to the other discussion page, I was writing up on!

DAVIDADAN it is a tough race, just thought Channon horse could be a pointer towards any replies, plus I do fancy this one to surprise, in a field that any of them could surprise.

Did you delete the last page we were on?

kingwillie,
I too have been following Redoute Star mate. I was pretty confident LTO and got burnt, and I'm not sure I want to chase my losses (although I KNOW I'm not really going to let him go around without me after we've come this far together). He won 3 times over 9f at Sha Tin, and once over 11f at Happy Valley, and he is bred to excel at this distance (being a Redoute's Choice, out of a Bletchingly mare). He obviously has the ability, and maybe his recent runs will have him at his peak for this. He will be backable today in this big field, and in fact the larger field may suit him (his 4 wins in HK were in fields of 10,13,14 & 14). 8/1 into 7/1 as I write this. He's been eased a further 1lb, he has Sanders back on after he rode him on his two Polytrack starts, and he really has to be given another chance I suppose. I think I might've put him on the "Next Time Out" thread a little while ago so he'll probably come up on the alerts. Good luck.

Man O Bong, all my bets were down and I was having terrible day and my only bet left was Naaz wich was about 12/1 on morning but I did not take a price thankfully and had £3 win on it then I seen the drift to 20's and thought am doomed, I really thought I was then it won quite easy and I could not believe my eyes, certainly saved my day, I only took it because I backed Dunlops other runners at Redcar aswell, so did not want to leave one out as thats fatal and thank god I never Laughing

and yes I have 1 for the notebook for next time called My Claire, it ran in the 2.10 at Redcar from stall 17 and jockey decided to pull it back and take rite over to other side of track wich he should not have as winner came from where he was originally at and by time he got where he wanted the bird had flown but it traveled really nicely and was making good ground before the jockey chucked in towel because he was not going to get there, it certainly will be winning races soon.

Today am just going to try a placepot at 1 of the meetings and save the rest of my money for Pontefract tonight and have a crack at that, as Newcastle and Nottingham are always very tough places to find winners.

Gotta' real fancy for STRATEGIC ACTION today @ 16:40pm @ Brighton

Trained by Linda Jewell, And Riden by Saleem Golam.
Although this 4 year olds Form this year Reads 4153, All 4 Runs were on AW, But Form on Turf Reads 9-05012, With Form on todays expected Good-Firm Ground Reading 9-5012, Although admittedly not spectacular, Its showed some spirit in Last 2' Runs, Coming a worthy 2nd from 10 Runners in Last Run on Turf on todays Good-Firm Ground, Just Quarter of a Length behind LANA in a 6 furlong Class 6 3yo Handicap here at Brighton in early September.
Also took a Win on todays Good-Firm Ground in Race before that 2nd Placing, When Winning from 6 Runners, Beating INDIANA GUEST by a Neck in a 6 furlong Class 6 3yo Handicap at Folkstone in late August.
Although Both Win and 2nd Placing was at 2 furlong shorter than todays 1 mile distance, Distance is of no real concern as has Won from 10 Runners at todays 1 mile distance on AW just 3 Races back, When Beating EXOPUNTIA by Three Quarters of a Length in a 1 mile Class 6 Handicap at Kempton in late January.
Saleem Golam has Mounted 3 times previously, With Form Reading 124, But holds Form on this on Turf on todays Good-Firm Ground Reading a worthy 12, Having been on Board Both Good-Firm Races mentioned above.

Looking at Last 2' Turf Runs which were on Good-Firm and when also looking at Saleem Golam's Form on Turf which was in those Last 2' Runs, This Sounds worthy of an E/W, Paying 4' Places, Currently @ Odds of around 14/1

Hey Kingwillie, Here's a Link to The Racing One-A-Day Comp', The 16:40pm @ Brighton is the Race of the Day, It's worth checking fella'.

Pontefract 7.50, is a interesting race as I think they have it priced up wrong and Stepping Ahead at 11/2 looks a massive price, it won very nicely last time staying on strongly and that form as some substance to it, the 2nd horse in that race Elhaame was 7l behind but that horse had previously only been beating a nose by Romantic Setting wich ran a blinder in a very good York race last week so that now makes Stepping Aheads 7L victory over Elhaame look strong and also the 3rd Hello Sailor, was just denied the next time so the form is looking really strong and alot stronger than the all weather form of the favourite Mission Approved the horse that was second behind it on the all weather last time was last on it's turf debut so the form has took a knock and this one seems priced up so short given it's connections. I would much rather put my money on Stepping Ahead at a nice tasty price of 11/2 that wont last long.

andhesontherun (roger varian) well touted in the morning press but drifted like a barge at the track. Watched this horse last night ran very green for most of the race but came home like a train to win pretty cosily under a nice ride from Atzeni. Varian was interviewed after the race and you could tell by his comments they expect a bright future for this one stating it was "one of the sharper ones in his yard" next time out me thinks
