Well there's 119,000k matched in the 6:00pm Ay Tay Tate has 3k of it where as Face Value has 59k of it. So if Ay Tay Tate wins I deserve to be knighted _________________ Love Outsiders...Hate Favourites

I did Stamp Duty 20/1, going into the final bit of fog was coming with a
strong run at the leader according to the commentator, nowhere |

Interesting that Belle Josephine, clearly doesn't look worth 460k but it didn't have to to win that terribe race! That favourite looks absolutely nothing special whatsoever. I wonder what Johnston will do now with her.

Des, she looks like an out and out stayer. Can't judge her form yet but if kept on a nice handicap mark i wonder whether the Cesarewitch would be an option? |

I was genuinely wondering whether she can win again to be honest! I suppose they will give her a go in another race but the official handicapper COULD give her an almighty mark for that as Red Shuttle was beaten only 3/4 length by Tappanappa lto, OR 79, therefore could be considered say 76 which would put her high 70's at least!
In my opinion though this would be flawed reasoning because, firstly Tappanappa is trained by Balding who is having a horrendous AW season so is very unlikely to have run upto that mark, secondly its pretty unlikely that 1/2 a length is a representation of his superiority over Shuttle anyway... Shuttle who being a Quinlan runner is probably only really being set up for handicaps! (Possibly a bit cynical, but most likely true)
I wonder how he'll rate that. _________________ "The problem with the future is that there are more things that could happen than will happen" - Plato (liberally paraphrased)

Yes, she's definitely not worth anywhere near her price-tag but it was a debut effort and looked quite green at stages. Considering Joe was at her from about 4 or 5 furlongs out, i thought she showed some good battling qualities and didn't seem to be running out of stamina at all come the line. A 1m4f debut would suggest she has stamina in abundance so there's not too much to aim for with her. She doesn't look like a group performer, so maybe a big staying handicap if kept on a lenient mark. Obviously, would want to see her run again a few more times as there is no way that the form of that race would bear any real relevance as you said. Who knows...............not me anyhow |
