Interesting to see Continuum from the Sir Henry Cecil stable holds his first five day entry in a 10f maiden at Newmarket next Thursday; always been extremely well regarded and is from a family his handler has done very well with i.e Timepiece, Passage Of Time, Father Time etc.
Also, I notice that one time prolific owner Nigel Shields has taken ownership of Nick Littmoden's promising sprinter Cut Across. He left the sport over the issue of prize money, or lack thereof back in 2008 and it's good to see him back involved. _________________ Horses To Follow 2013 - Flat

Well Black Caviar is 21 on the trot now. Won a Grp1 without being touched yesterday. Not all the horse it's beaten are mugs and if the price is right I'll be on it at Ascot. And this just looks smooth as hell to me; remember these are sprints; looks like cruising to me.

| Hi Aidan. If you read this would be interesting to hear your thoughts on Ernest Hemingway in the Dante, I know you mentioned him a few pages ago. O'Briens only runner in the race and still available at 25/1. |

5/1 according to Oddschecker Where are you getting 25/1? 25/1 for the Derby. |

Joeski, it was a visually taking performance from Ernest Hemingway on debut at Dundalk, and that he managed to make all without being asked for everything and yet still clocked a fast time points to this colt being something out of the ordinary. What I liked most was, when Joseph O'Brien gave him a flick with around 150 yards to run (understandably looked to be getting a little lonely in front), he extended further clear and had even more in hand than the 10 length margin of victory indicates. He beat nothing and now takes on more proven rivals, but I wouldn't bank on many of the field having as much talent as this colt, and he's a fascinating prospect who I am really looking forward to see on Thursday. _________________ Horses To Follow 2013 - Flat

| Thanks Aidan, that's enough for me to get on for both races. Sorry beepee, missed out saying 25/1 was for Derby not Dante. |

This news was available before your post...I'd always check to see what the plans were for a horse before backing it.
| Quote: |
| Ernest Hemingway Will run in the Dante at York on Thursday if the going is good, which seems unlikely at present. "If it's on the soft side, he won't run," said O'Brien, adding that that would also mean the horse was less likely to run in the Derby, as he would be short of experience. "He's a beautiful-moving horse and we wouldn't want to run him in soft ground. If we got nice ground, we'd love to run." |

Brilliant news...
| Quote: |
OVERTURN GOING FOR GOLD
Donald McCain has confirmed that his dual purpose performer Overturn is likely to have his next race in the Ascot Gold Cup at the Royal meeting.
Second in the Champion Hurdle to Rock On Ruby, he then attempted to follow up his win in the Chester Cup of 12 months ago.
On ground softer than ideal and racing off a 7lb higher mark he put up a bold display only to be caught close home, ironically by his new stablemate Ile De Re.
"Almost definitely he will got to Royal Ascot and it's almost definitely for the Gold Cup," said McCain on At The Races.
"We've got nothing to lose. He'll turn up on the day and do what Overturn does. If that's not good enough then fine, but he deserves his chance.
"He's gone up to 112 now so we'll go and hopefully get ground we can run on and see what happens." |
Brilliant for racing, brilliant for connections... and brilliant for the chances of Colour Vision who will love having something making a good fist of things in front to aim at, shortened to 7/1 best priced today...

| Thanks budgie, saw that article and was surprised at the comments about him bring unlikely to run, forecast weather isn't too bad and the course drains pretty well so personally can see it being good with good to soft in places for the race. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic in that. Was surprised that O'Brien only had Ernest Hemingway in the Dante given his comments over the need for good ground, thought he would have a plan b horse entered in the race in case the going ended up soft. Noticed that the bookies you'd associate with having good links with Ballydoyle are the only ones who don't have him priced up for the Derby. |

| Hi Joeski - see it is Good/GS at York now so unlikely to go soft so I'm not putting you off him in any way - just for me AP bets have to have a better than 80% chance of getting to the race in question and EH wasn't - he might be now though - I just thought that were a couple of sharper bred horses in the Dante who might be better over 10f as EH looks a proper 12f type. |
