Ejanbow - there is not a problem in reducing a field from 27 to 26. Just tip something at 25/1 and watch it become 6/1 , then wait for the non runner. It works every time ( Blueboy & JMStocka will confirm ) :x
SEAL ROCK is my pin's nominee here. Henry Candy's 4yo has only run one bad race ( to date ) and that was over 7f. Apart from that he has run exclusively at 6f , winning 4 times including twice over C&D. He is ideally drawn in trap 1 if today's stampede is anything to go by.
Dane O'Neill has ridden him to 3 of his victories and also when a fine second at Goodwood in October.
Having won twice over 6f here , and on heavy ground at Pontefract , this 6f obviously suits his stamina. He has also won on good to firm so is versatile in that respect. _________________ One-a-day history

The Confessor
I know Candy has the fav too but this fellow is not taking his chance with a top
jockey booked just for the run, I can't see that he has rode for the stable before,
the horse ran some solid races last year and stays further so shouldn't be stopping,
ground is fine and draw looks ok, capable of running well from this mark and
he usually gives his running, he can race up with pace and should be trying all
the way to the line, |

CHEVETON
1. Has won over this distance.
2. He is better off with Maarek who he beat on gd ground over this distance and Maarek is 10/1 where Cheveton is 22/1.
3. Richard Price's horses are running at 100% according to the Racing Post
4. Dale Swift will also take another 3lbs of its back.
5. Had a recent run and should come on for that.
Great Value and worth an e/w punt in this contest |

15:50 NEWMARKET
Twenty seven runners and difficult to discount any of them with confidence. With points being a real issue this month, i going to look at those that head up the market. The one i thought was interesting is Maarek trained by David Peter Nagle. This is the trainers only winner within the last fortnight from a total of six runners; from what i can gather, he doesn't have a lot of horses in training. Maarek appears the stables super star, his win ratio his better than 25% (4 from 15), he as proven ability on soft ground whilst three of his four wins have come over today's six furlongs. Young jockey Josh O'Brien is an eye catcher of a booking. His win aboard Camelot yesterday proves his ability, and the level of progression he's shown over the past couple of seasons. Barring his disappointing performance at Dundalk last August, Maarek as shown nothing but progression over the past twelve months, showing a tremendous amount of consistency.
Today the selection ticks plenty boxes regarding the conditions. The draw bias for the race is difficult to access, as it as a tendency of throwing up different results.
Its difficult to pin point just one danger though did feel Seal Rock was a huge threat towards the selection. He as plenty in favour to warrant another big run. That can also be said about the Marco Botti trained Whaileyy. Lightly raced for a four year old, his recent all weather form stands out to put in place enough respect though as to prove him self on this softer ground.
MAAREK
Good Luck All ...... |

15:50 NEWMARKET
Doc Hay.......From Keith Dalgleish yard in Carluke, South Lanarkshire, who was a good jockey in the Mark Johnston yard but over 6ft and had weight problems he turned to Training took over Belstane Stable, at Carluke last year and has been successfull mostly on AW this will be his first real full season on turf and hopefully carry on finding winners .
Doc Hay has had a run for the yard already this year at Beverley last month where it finished 2nd over 5f in a class 3 race the yard is increasing the distance to 6f and up in class 2 the horse last year ran in class1 race at Doncaster over todays distance where in kept going in final furlong to finish 3rd so if fit should see the distance out ,Joe Fanning rode alot for him last year and is onboard today |

3.50. THE CONFESSOR
Henry Candy can be relied on to have a sprinter ready to go first time out, his Newmarket record may not be great though so maybe this one is being primed for Ascot. Not won over six but run close in class 2 over 7f and wants give in the ground. Johnny Murtagh comes in for the ride, an unusual booking for stable. the horse has placed on no fewer than 10 of 14 races and won 3 of them. |

Doc hay
Has only won over 5f but at doncaster last season looked to be handling 6f really well. His mark has been raised considerably but deservedly so, winning 4 handicaps. Can handle softer ground and has a good draw. |

15:50 Newmarket Mirza
Came a good 2nd last time out in a 17 horse race and runs this class often. Won at newbury 1st time out this year in same class also as today. Last run last year came 6th in a 24 horse race at ayr in same class as today so can handle large fields. David Probert has had the win 2 runs back on this horse and rides again today. Won 4 times and 2 2nds out of 14 runs. _________________ I stake low on bets.

3.50 newmarket cheverton
this is the one am chancing on today i think if he can go on from its 4th lto.
the 3rd that day lui rei won yesterday cheverton was only 1 and quarter lengths behind that day. also when cheverton won last back in sep 11 he had a few behind that day including mirza and maarek and if he is in tune and ready today should be bang there ground wont be a problem and swift seems to get on better with him than most and takes of 3lbs.
good luck today _________________ dont gamble if you cant afford to lose it |

3:50 Newmarket - PARISIAN PYRAMID
Has now dropped to a handicap mark of 91 which it has won off before. Has run two credible races this season finishing 4th over 7f and 5th over 6f on soft ground. Looks as though 6f is more suitable and has run his better races on good ground so today should be more suitable than on those occasions. Jockey booking takes the eye with Jamie Spencer riding as they have a 20% strike rate when combining over the last 5 seasons. Is only a couple of the top RPR and can bounce back to form now off a winning mark. Will be suited to the strong pace that's likely in today's large field and can run a huge race at big odds. |
