RULERSHIP (Katsuhiko Sumii/Umberto Rispoli) secured his first top-level triumph when he landed the Group 1 Audemars Piguet QEII Cup, a race in which last year's Irish Derby winner Treasure Beach finished ninth.
Sixth in the Dubai Sheema Classic last year, Rulership, a five-year-old son of 2004 Japanese Derby winner King Kamehameha, came home in front of Thumbs Up.

Capannelle: Premio Parioli (Group 3) 1m, turf, 3yo colts
BRITISH-trained pair Farraaj and Rockinante were out of luck in the Italian 2,000 Guineas, finishing third and eighth behind Malossol (Giuseppe Botti/Fabio Branca).
The winner came from well off the pace to collar Vedelago inside the final 25 yards to land the major share of the €110,000 prize by a short head, with two and a quarter lengths back to Farraaj in third.
