Hello All.
Well after 4 long days in Barnsley i am very proud to say i am now the holder of a PDC pro tour card. The card i have won over the past 4 days is now valid for 2 years. With this card it is now my goal to make the Worlds top 64 to ensure i dont have to go through the same process again.
My goals for this year are to go back to the uk open in bolton and make the world championship at the end of the year. I start this in just a few days time in Benidorm so its a case of reset my mind and get ready for the new challenge ahead this weekend.
The tour should be tougher than ever with new faces like winstanley, hankey the west brothers etc. all gaining tour cards aswell this year.
Whilst in Barnsley i have played some fantasic darts and have been tipped by many of the top stars including Paul Nicholson to do well this year and in the future which i am taking as a good confidence boost.
Many of the games bigger names have faild to gain tour cards and in such could be facing the end of there careers. Players such as Chris Mason, Peter Manley, Peter Evison to name a few.
Along my way this weekend i have beaten some very good players both old and new and am very happy with my game. I have been trying new flights out the past few days and the amount of 180s i have been hitting has been increased so a big positive. Every game i have played over the past 4 days has been of a very high standard so im very happy with how things are shapping up for the start of the season.
For those who remeber a player called andy fordham i drawn to play him on day one and after nearly 3 legs he had to pull out through injury. He didnt return to any of the other days and could be a shame to say i think the former world champion will be seen no more throwing darts.
Expect alot of change this year within the PDc as some more of the older faces will drop out with the new bundle of players coming into the the tour. Going to be a interesting year and i will keep you all updated weekend by weekend with how things are going.
Thanks to all the members and to olbg for there support. I no i say it every post but i realy do mean it. The support i have got from this site has been incredable and its cause of this support i get the chance to live my dream. For that i cant thank everyone enough and i want to do you all proud this season. _________________ TWITTER ---- @theedgar501 |
