The 1st Eurovision Semi Final takes place on Tuesday 22nd and features
Albania
Austria
Belgium
Cyprus
Denmark
Finland
Greece
Hungary
Iceland
Ireland
Israel
Latvia
Moldova
Montenegro
Romania
Russia
San Marino
Switzerland
Favourites for the 1st Semi Final are Denmark and Russia. The winners of each Semi Final will not be announced until after the final. Thought there may be some value in the 1st Semi Final.

| I took 9/1 about Iceland. Bit of a poor draw, but apparently one of the 3 best positions to be in if you are in the first half. Class act, something a bit different with scope to pull out a big performance. |

| For anyone betting on this semi it's the 2nd dress rehearsal tonight that is marked by the juries so that's the one you might want to keep an eye on for feedback. Pretty sure there's no live filming so it'll just be press/reporters/blogger etc. |

Tuesday's Eurovision Semi Final betting is really competative and hard to call between the top 4 in the betting.
I may well dutch a couple or 3 of the top 4 and discard one (Probably Denmark).
The fly in the oitnment is really Russia, no one really knows how they are going to be received by Eurovision voters.
Polls seem to indicate interest but is this just the novelty factor.
If they look vulnerable or make a mistake on stage then they may get a massive sympathy vote.
However if Russia were truly going to storm the contest i dont belive the bookies would have them as big as 7/2 for their Semi Final, in comparison to the odds for Sweden in their Semi Final.
So that would leave Rumania and Iceland both have good songs, most posters seem to agree with that. Their odds for the 1st Semi Final are 5/1 and 11/2 which to my eyes looks a decent bet.

Doesn't sound so good for Greece but they will be more worried about the tele vote, Romania getting positive comments.
Laid off my bet on Hungary to qualify as this is a very trappy heat for those bets I think, Switzerland seem to be getting some love and I think they're going for the same vote.
Cyprus apparently not great vocally
Denmark shaky start but good overall it seems. Russia getting a lot of love from everyone in attendance it seems (they have all week) but surely this isn't scoring highly with the juries.
Edit
Tempted to go back in on Hungary, lol. I've bailed out from Iceland though, I've gone back and forth on them the last few days so just decided it's better to take my stake back.
Seems like Greece and Cyprus were the losers from tonight but they were never massive jury winners. I think both Cyprus and Ireland are poor value to qualify tbh but I can't bring myself to take either on. Expecting some shocks tomorrow.
Anyone have any qualify/not to qualify bets they fancy? |

I am from Greece and we have won 1 place in semi finals 2 or 3 times and we can do it again if tele voting help, my predictions for the 1 semi :
1. Russia
2. Greece
3. Romania
4. Denmark
or these are the songs I like _________________ Alexadros Greece |

| If I was betting at current odds I'd take Romania top 3 @ 1.75 and for a long shot I might try Moldova e/w @ 28/1 (1/4 odds @ Boylesports) |
