Thats the problem with Boxing in the UK at the moment, most people only recognise David Haye, but nobody knows Carl Froch, whos a great fans fighter and is also a very good one.
Nathan Cleverly is exciting and domestically good matches are made, but the best ones are usually the ones that have all the hype and fail to deliver, thus a reason why Pacquiao v Mayweather might not have to be made.
Heavyweight Boxing is in a bad state, but if you focus on a division like just welterweight or just super middleweight, believe me you'd be a Boxing fan, it's just you have to take the rough with the smooth. Last week was a brilliant night of Boxing, but this one wasnt.
Next week will be amazing believe me, Billy Joe Saunders in a 10 rounder, Murray v Mitchell and in the US Rios v Antillon (potentially fight of the last five years) and Williams v Lara. _________________ Football and Boxing expert. |

Very Good post Welshie. Agree 100%. It amazes me Carl Froch doesn't have more support than he does. I think we have 3 fighters who are World Champions (Correct me if I am wrong) in Carl Froch, Nathan Cleverley and Ricky Burns.
For me, my favourite divisions in recent times have been the Super Middleweights, Junior Welterweights and the Lightweights.
And as Welshie has mentioned, Murray vs Mitchell. That one I really can't wait for. This is the fight I have been counting down since the De Gale - Groves fight was announced (Even though it didn't turn out as I had hoped ).
Roll on next week. Welshie/Ybsteam/Cbris (Sorry if I have missed others off), looking forward to seeing your views on the Murray fight. _________________ Liverpool 1 vs 3 Aston Villa - The moment we got Thumped by the worst Aston Villa Team in Living Memory is the Moment I waved goodbye to ALL European Football For 2013/2014. |

You've forgotten Khan m8
I already have a sneaky feeling about Mitchell next week, not set in stone, but I'm pretty confident I will be backing Mitchell. _________________ Football and Boxing expert. |

I knew I put that "correct me if i'm wrong" statement in there for a reason. How on earth did I forget Khan.
Glad to hear that. I like both fighters but my heart will be routing for Mitchell. I just wonder how he will be. 14 months out of the ring. Postive to see the bookies have the fight fairly close (not a million miles apart) with Murray priced up at about 1.55.
It was gutting to see Mitchell demolished by Katsidis last time out. But it's fair to say John Murray has never fought a boxer of Michael Katsidis's quality. And prior to that defeat, a fair few boxing fans saw Mitchell as the better fighter of these two. Murrays preparation for this fight saw him make very hard work of Karim El Ouazghari. I wasn't impressed with Murray in this fight and even though he won, it wasn't a great performance.
For me, if Mitchell performs as he did prior to prior to his 14 month break the odds available on him are very generous. I am split at the moment though and on the fence. _________________ Liverpool 1 vs 3 Aston Villa - The moment we got Thumped by the worst Aston Villa Team in Living Memory is the Moment I waved goodbye to ALL European Football For 2013/2014. |

I might get a few warning points for this but here goes, David Haye is a plank, how many tele interviews has he done where he has been talking utter crap?
Klitscko showed him up, Haye was useless and to hear him coming out with excuses after he lost is pathetic.
Haye is a coward and got what he deserved, the sooner this celeb wannabe retires the better, however if he chooses to lose to the other Klitscko brother too i would pay to see that. |

Haye's great at selling fights.....He did it with Harrison and has done it again with Klitcschko....
Frank Warren was right when he said "Haye promises a tear up but that never happens"
I dont think the boxing public will fall for another hypped up Haye fight but hes made millions from the last two so i doubt hes that bothered ..
The chance of winning the heavyweight championship has gone for good now so the only real chance Haye has is to drop back down to cruiserweight and try to regain those belts.
Hopefully now that Haye v Klitcshko's out of the way it will be a long time until SKY can do another "Box office" for their sports fans... _________________ Always Trying..... |

| Murray v Mitchell has been put back a week and will be on the Liverpool show guys. Would really like to see him win but Warren has firmly stacked the deck in Murrays favour which puts me off a bit... |

bad luck for the fans that bought tickets in London, but maybe the reason it has been pulled is because of low ticket sales, who knows.
Liverpool looks massive now though, but it's spoilt my Saturday night a bit as I really wanted to watch Billy Joe Saunders.
Big news also that British champ Anthony Crolla has an amazing fight on the Mayweather v Ortiz undercard against Erik Morales. It might even be for a world title, unbelievable chance, but at least British fighters are getting chances now. _________________ Football and Boxing expert. |

| I think it was bad ticket sales. You'll still get to see Billy Joe Saunders though, as well the rest of the show, it's just moved to York Hall so afaik Saunders and Byrne v Al Harbi are both still on and should be on Sky mate. |

There was an email on Talksport this morning it went like this:
'I know David Haye is not retiring yet as I am the manager of his next fighter. I fully expect Brown Paper Bag to go the full twelve rounds.' |

Wladimir has said he may face the winner of Fury vs Chisora. I'd like to see that. No interest in a rematch with the plonker that is David Haye, it was embarrassing at times on Saturday night, the difference in class. Haye at times wasn't even looking where he was punching. He had his head down throwing his arms around aimlessly which was clumsy and desperate! I'm not saying Chisora or Fury can do much better, but if Chisora can impress against someone as tall as Fury he should be able to do a better job than Haye did against Wladimir Chisora will go for it that's for sure, I don't think he's afraid of being KO'd and that's a rare quality these days in a fighter _________________ Love Outsiders...Hate Favourites
