One of the more interesting group games on the basis that these teams played each other in qualifying. Portugal won their home match against Denmark 3-1 whilst Denmark beat Portugal 2-1 in Copenhagen.
Denmark looked well organised against Holland but they don't look likely to score many goals whilst I also heard in the commentary on the Portugal game that three of their recent matches had been 0-0 which makes me think this game will be under 2.5 goals.
Portugal looked to play for a draw against Germany and the show could be on the other foot here with Denmark likely to be delighted if they can go into the Germany match on 4 points so I'll be having a small play on the draw. |

Sneeky feeling that Denmark can make it 6 points from 6 here. Portugal need to be going for more than the solitary point imo and a well drilled, focused Danish team could well let the Portugeuse frustration become their undoing as they get forward quick on the counter.
The Danish team really know their own strenghs and weaknesses and don't try to do anything they know they can't. They keep things very tight and play a well disciplined game. I know its early but only Denmark and Germany ironically from the same group have an unblemished defensive record having not conceded a goal yet. Im not sure that Portugal can breach them tonight either as they offered very little against an equally tight defense in the game with Germany. With the very real possibility that Holland will be on their way home come 10 o'clock Denmark know that anything here could well see them march onto the next phase like the bacon eating soldiers they are.
As mentioned in an earlier post U2.5 is probably on the cards as both sides aren't too often involved in high scoring games. |

These sides was in each others qualifying groups and Denmark won the home game 2-1 and Portugal won there home game 3-1 so expect goals in this and both sides no a win is crucial here
Portugal never created much at all against Germany and Ronaldo never got much service but scored in both games against Denmark in qualifying and looks value here to score
Nani is a confidence player and when on song is unplayable but poor when he is off form and needs a stromer here but does well against Denmark
He has three goals in four games against them and comes up against Simon Poulsen who was impressive going forward but will be exposed at times and Nani can do damage with the space
Lars Jacobsen plays right back and for me is poor and was everytime i saw him at Westham but never got booked and rarely does and good for a full back but just see him struggling bigtime with Nani and Ronaldo out wide and cutting in and is slow and can not handle there pace
Ronaldo anytime scorer 11/8 NAP
Nani anytime scorer 4/1
Lars Jacobsen to be booked 4/1 |

Portugal have been heavily backed to win today, happy to go with that to be honest. Denmark did finish above them in their qualifying group, but I'm not sure if they are going to be able to carry on their form from this first match. Portugal have got plenty of talent, they are the kind of team that can really hit form on their day, that money on them could be a sign that this could be one of their days.
Portugal to win, best priced 1.91 with Stan James and Ladbrokes now! _________________ Football and Boxing expert. |

Not for me Welshie, i think Portugal flatter to decieve and am with Denmark on this one. Portugal have been overhyped for a long time mainly because they have Ronaldo.
They have done nothing on the international stage - aside from reaching the final of their own tournament, a tournament that saw them beaten twice in only 6 games in all. They struggled in their group and even struggled in the playoff first leg drawing 0-0 witn Bosnia, althought they did smash them at home in the 2nd leg. I have seen more bore draws from portugal than i care to remember, it is almost like they are chasing their own shadows most of the time trying to live upto their undeserving reputation. Danish win, possibly 1-0
Denmark will be ever efficient at the back and i expect a close but inevitable Danish win. All of which is just my opinion.

| also in the boat that portugal lack a cutting edge, the Lay of portugal odds on is worth a bet, their front man doesnt inspire much fear in back 4s and the danes know how to limit ronaldo and his involvemnet, tempted by a 0-0 trade but will see. |

cometh the hour cometh the man! Ronaldo can stamp his class on this game!
i think he can cause enough problems to the danish defense that he will draw fouls. Which means free-kicks and penalties.
the Danes used all their luck in the first game and i expect Portugal to win comfortably. with Ronaldo getting a couple probably from the free-kicks and/ or Penalties!
Ronaldo to score first @9/2, anytime @11/8, 2 or more @15/2, hat-trick @25/1
Portugal to win 3-0 @14/1, 4-0 @35/1
penalty to be scored first half @15/2
cant wait for the germany v holland game....fireworks!!!! _________________ Never pay for tips, Why would you?.

have say 25/1 on a player to get a hat trick is poor value, dont see many of them nevermind getting the right player too.
BetVictor offering ronaldo evens not to score. |

Portugal need to go for this but I think the Danes can frustrate them for the 1st half atleast, maybe longer. They need both Nani and Ronaldo to have good games and of course on their day they can deliver, maybe today. I think the draw is the value call here because I think the Danes could have a goal in them and I think Portugal might struggle to score more than 1. Having said that, if the players mentioned above have good games Portugal could be sneaking this, so I'll cover myself with a few bets.
Draw @ 11/4
Denmark/Portgual (half/full time) @ 33/1
Draw/Portugal (half/full time) @ 4/1
Ronaldo to score outside the box @ 6/1
Good luck guys, also can't wait for Holland v Germany, come on the Oranje! |

Denmark Vs Portugal - DENMARK +0.50 (AH) & BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
"Denmark played really well in their shock 1-0 win over holland in the first game. They were solid at the back and looked dangerous on the counter. They are a big theat at set pieces aswell and confidence will be high after that win. They finished above todays rivals in qualifying so will be confident they can upset them again. Portugal defended well against Germany and deserved something from that game. They were defensive but looked dangerous when getting forward. Ronaldo and Nani are the key players for them and if they can get on the ball enouhg they will score goals. Denmark will not be easy to beat though packing their midfield and counter attacking well. They could sneak through this group if they hold on here."
