Russia are going to be hot favourites for this after another Greek no show, it's obvious that Greece are very slow starters so I'll be looking mainly at Russian first goalscorers and probably focussing on Alan Dzagoev (who I was lucky enough to back in the Golden Boot pre tournament). It will be interesting to see if the first choice Greek keeper is fit after going off against Czech Republic, he has looked absolutely dreadful so far and if he plays I fancy Russia to score at least three.
What does everyone else fancy? |

A strategy that i will be looking at in the final group games is over 2.5 goals. it looks as though most teams in these final games still have a chance to qualify. With this in mind what will the coaches be saying? possibly take the shackles off, go and express yourself, qualify!
There are 8 final games and i feel a bigger percentage will be over 2.5 goals including this match.
Russia i dont think can shut up shop and go for the draw, as a team they are attacking focused and i think will play in the same style, they will want to win the group, Greece really need to go for the win and cannot be as defensive as they have in the opening two games. Attacking is really alien to the Greeks so there will be confusion all around amongst their players, the skilful Russians can take advantage and an open game will ensue.
Back over 2.5 goals - shop around for 1/1. _________________ Community Manager - Win A Forum Reward This Month.

Russia let many of us down the other night against Poland and looked very tired and looked reluctant to bomb on
They are not through yet and Greece still have hope with a win and results going there way
Greece need a win so have to go for it and will only help Russias cause and can hit them hard on the counter attack with Greece pushing many up
I see Russia bouncing back and looking like they did in the first game and will want to top the group to try and avoid Germany who should top theres
Arshavin ran the show first game but was awful last game and looked dead in the second half but lots rest on his shoulders here
Karagounis has been about for years but legs have gone as has no pace and sew Russia keeping the ball and being too sharp for him and he loses it easily and see him lashing out or being not quick enough in the tackle
Arzhavin to score 11/4
Karagounis to he booked 5/2 NAP
Russia to score three or more 11/4
Russia to score two or more first half 4/1 |

It could be argued that with Russia already all but sure of their place in the Quarter-Finals, they could relax against a Greek side who look like they will pose little danger. However, with Germany looking likely to win their group, it would be beneficial for the Russians to secure top spot so as to avoid the Germans. Whilst I don't think that Russia have quite what it takes to win this tournament, they possess enough quality throughout their squad to have little fear of failing against the Greeks. It would be no surprise if rumoured Arsenal target Alan Dzagoev shines against a poor looking Greek midfield, although the physicality of the Greek defence could lead to the misfiring Kerzhakov being replaced by Pavlyuchenko.
Greece have a poor record against Russia, beating them just once in the previous 10 meetings, whilst Russia also defeated the Greeks in the two previous EURO tournaments. After a long Russian season in which a large proportion of the squad participated, it seemed as though the Russians tired as their previous match against Poland progressed. With this in mind, replacement Greek goalkeeper Michalis Sifakis can expect to be put under pressure in the first half with the Russians looking to get ahead in the match before half time. I would not be too surprised if Dick Advocaat produced a few changes to his starting line up to freshen up the team, reserving the option to throw on his first choice players if necessary in the second half. Whether or not Advocaat goes ahead with this option, they should still have too much for Greece to deal with. If Greece stick with their first choice midfield then their ageing central midfield will surely soon run out of energy and either leave the Russians with too much space, or drop back and take up a deep line, inviting pressure allowing Russia to get the result they need.
I really cant see anything other than a Russia victory in this match, whilst they could see themselves finding the back of the net on numerous occasions.
Betting-wise I've gone with "Russia Win / Dzagoev & Pavlyuchenko Anytime / More than 2.5 Goals" |

Greece Vs Russia - RUSSIA WIN
Russia played some very good football in their fitst game but were given a tough game by Poland lto. They did waste some good chances in that game but should make amends here.
Greece are not as tough to beat as they was. They did well in the first game but were poor against teh Czechs.
RUSSIA WIN
KERZHAKOV TO SCORE FIRST

As pointed in previous posts, the Greeks simply have to go for it and I anticipate that the Russians will pick them off with some quick counter attacks. I can also see the potentially Premiership-bound Dzagoev taking full advantage tonight and in turn cement his rising reputation.
Russia to win & Dzagoev to score anytime = 7/2
Dzagoev to score first = 7/1
Bon chance all |

Greece has a major return Socrates Papastathopoulos, this along with a change on the left back side where Greece was suffering Tzavellas instead of Cholevas will strengthen Greece's defense and I think that they can keep a clean sheet for at least one half.
HT DRAW at 2.25 |

Greek smash and grab has put a spanner in the works
Well at least it makes both group games more interesting 2nd half!
