| Hosts Poland take on the fancied Russia and the Russians will be looking to cement their place as group favourites with a win here. Russia looked great against Czech Republic but they may have been flattered as my suspicion that Czech Republic were the worst team at Euro 2012 looked to have been confirmed. I like Alan Dzagoev a lot and I think he will score again in this match whilst I'll also be backing over 2.5 goals as I wasn't impressed with Russia's defending on Friday, they easily could have conceded two or three goals against a poor Czech Republic. |

Looking at these 2 teams performances in game 1, i am surprised that Russia can be backed at odds against.
Ok, they aren't the best defencive team, but neither are Poland and Russia are a far better attacking team than Poland.
Russia @ 7/5 is an absolute steal |

Poland's first choice goalkeeper is banned for this after getting sent off, which does not bode well, especially considering the firepower of Russia who could've scored 6 against Czech.
It would seem that the Poles might be setting their stall out for a draw here, with the coach stating: "The most important thing is not to lose." I'm not sure this is the best way to go into this game, because arguably Russia's biggest weakness is their defence and their biggest strength their attack, so this is not the kind of game you want to be on the back foot for.
Whereas Advocaat has said: "Is a draw good enough? I don't think so." The two managers really are Poles apart (sorry).
Poland couldn't beat a poor Greece side down to ten men. I doubt they can beat a strong, confidence Russia.
Russia win.
Maybe 3:1 |

Anyone else think Over 2.5 goals is a good bet at nice odds? Russia showed against the Czech Republic that they are dangerous upfront and with Arshavin looking in good form they will get goals again today against a weak polish defence, also Poland are under pressure to get atleast a point to keep their chances of going through alive, if they go down in the first half i can see it becoming a very open game. _________________ Moden Warefare Pro 11th lvl70 |

Really looking forward to this tonight and am expecting a great game between a very confident team and an under pressure desperate one.
Farnsfield raises a very good point which i had honestly forgotten about, Szcznesy being suspended. Not the best preperation for a team about to face the flair side of the tourny so far.
I think Russia should have easily enough to keep Poland to the single point after 2 games. I see them comfortbaly winning tonight, although i also saw Sweden comfortably winning against Ukraine last night. Maybe 2 surprises on the bounce from the 2 hosts......doubt it though.
Odds against is massive in my opinion and should be taken as early as poss as i think that surely has to shorten up before the off. I mean, i now bookmakers and compilers know what they are upto but 2.52 (currently on Betfair) seems like a joke that has got out of hand. In short...yes please. |

From my reports in the 2nd round of games the number of draws in the euros is averaging out at 25% that makes a price of 4.00 desireable however it is unlikely that we will get near that.
In the Russia game it is around the 3.3 mark, that makes the Russia or Poland price higher than you should expect.
I think thus odds against for Russia and especially around the 2.5 mark looks a great price. _________________ www.twitter.com/overthefence200

We're along the same lines as Scooby...
Poland vs. Russia
Back Over 2.5 goals @ 5-4
Russia clearly play with an attacking style and have a squad full of players prepared to have an effort at goal. Poland have their own leading striker in Lewandowski who will be looking to add to his goal from the opening game. What was most apparent about Poland’s performance against Greece was their use of an ill-executed offside trap. Arshavin is more than capable of unlocking the host’s defence. The game yielding around 20 efforts at goal makes the bet a viable option and both sides are capable of adding to the goal total.
Back Pavlyuchenko to score anytime @ 9-4
For this bet to be worthwhile Pavlyuchenko needs to only have three efforts at goal during the match. It is assumed that he will be promoted to the starting line-up following his effective introduction against the Czechs. He is likely to spearhead the striking formation in a game that will see plenty of chances. |

Fancy Russia strongly, my biggest bets of the tournament so far -
Over 2.5 Goals @ 5/4
Russia's first game was an over 2.5 goals game within the first hour, they led 2-0 at half time and the Czech's scored at the start of the 2nd half.
They beat Italy 3-0 in their last friendly before the competition got underway, so Russia certainly know where the goal is.
Poland's first game should have been an over 2.5 goals game as Greece missed a 2nd half penalty to take a 2-1 lead.
I can Russia scoring at least twice in this game and Poland might well grab a goal through their top striker Lewandowski who scored against Greece.
Russia -0.25 (AH) @ 11/10
Although Poland have been keeping clean sheets they have been playing lowly ranked teams in their last 3 recent friendlies, Greece scored against them and should have scored more than once.
Once Russia settled into their rhythym against the Czech Republic the result never looked in doubt, they scored 4 goals and if Kerzhakov had his shooting boots on, they could have scored another 4.
Russia are not the best at the back so Poland will get chances but they actually didn't create too many clear cut chances against Greece.
I can see Russia winning this game by at least 2 goals, although they would probably settle for any win that will see them go through with a game to spare.
Russia @ 6/4
Poland started the match well against Greece and looked a decent team in the first half, it was the complete opposite in the 2nd half and Greece were the better team, even with 10 men.
Poland were fortunate to get away from that game with a point after Greece missed a late penalty, they will have to play a lot better to get anything from Russia.
Russia started slowly against the Czech's and the Czech's actually looked the better side until Russia scored, then they seemed to calm down and play their normal football.
Russia could and should have scored more goals in the 2nd half but they will have been more than happy with a 4-1 win. Same again for me, with Russia winning by at least 2 goals
HT/FT - Russia - Russia @ 3/1
Russia know that a win here will see them through in the quarter finals with still a game to play, giving them the chance of resting players for the knockout stages.
A good start will quieten down the Polish fans who will start this game very loud trying to give their players that extra boost, it's important for Poland to try and get something from this game to keep them in a good position for qualifying themselves.
Russia took a 2-0 lead against the Czechs in their first game and despite the Czechs pulling a goal back they eventually won the match with ease, giving them plenty of confidence for today.
Another first half lead is on the cards here with a quick start to quieten the home crowd
Russia to score in both halves @ 11/4
Russia scored twice in each half in their first game against the Czech Republic and had 17 shots at goal, with only 7 being on target.
4 goals from 7 shots on target is a fantastic strike rate and they must be confident of beating hosts Poland in their 2nd game.
Russia have the attacking players to cause any team problems in the championships and won't be scared of playing the hosts, who were lucky to get a point against Greece.
I can see Russia scoring at least 2 goals in this game, hopefully they can get one in each half

Big game for both sides and see the crowd and players getting heated in this game and hope it does not spoil things
Poland blew it for me in the first game and needed a win to be honest and now face two tougher games and if they lose here then things will be tough for them to progress so need to go for it but if they leave themselves to open then Russia will hurt them and we saw what they done when they got space against the Czech
No Scezsny in goal which is a big loss so Russia will test the keeper and try and unsettle him and Pav might get a start and always looks good for Russia and Arshavin,Dzagoev and Shirokov bring so much attacking threat and look value to score over 1.5 goals at 6/4 and done them in a double with the Czech at 6/4 for over 1.5 goals which pays a nice 4/1 but singles also and one will make a small profit |

I just feel we will really see Ugly scenes before this game and after, both sides have a history of trouble and things go back many years ago and many have been killed by the other so a lot of hatred between the sides
Polish will not be happy that Russia beat up a few stewards and they say Russia have 9000 plus tickets and will be marching through Warsaw before the game and no doubt if they do will be met by thousands of Polish hooligans
38000 tickets gone for this game and only 6000 police for this game and seeing trouble breaking out in lots of places |
