jmstocka has agreed for me to run this one following his highly successful Mark Johnston January thread and other profitable threads he has run.
Mark Johnston had a poor record on the AW for a number of seasons but there has been a transformation over the last three seasons.
This thread will concentrate on all his runners having their first run of the year in February.
Stats:
2009 = 3 wins from 7 runs all runners under the 5-1 SP range
2010 = 8 wins from 19 runs, 1 winner at 13-2 and 5 of the losers outside the 5-1 SP range
2011 = 5 wins from 14 runs, 1 winner at 11-2 and 3 of the losers outside the 5-1 SP range
One extra piece of information is that Odds-On has produced a loss so many of you will be pleased to know that they will be excluded from the system. On the other hand longer priced runners (5/1 and over) have produced a profit with 10 runners giving a return of 14 points for a 4 point profit so they will be included. This is not likely to affect the figures too much with an average of just 3 per season but the longer prices could be worthwhile in relation to overall return. |

Just two more pieces of information that should be of interest.
1. Odds-On over the three years period show 5 wins from 10 runners and a LSL of 2.63 points.
2. 10/1 and over show three runners with no winners.
The first stat needs no further comment but the second one is inconclusive, My opinion is that, with an average of just one per season, their inclusion is reasonable as the effect on overall stakes should be minimal but missing a 10/1 or more winner would be hard to bear! You must decide for yourselves as I do not psssess a crystal ball for this! |

Nice 1 guys
Won't be betting much in Feb, due to saving for my holiday and adding to my Cheltenham funds, but if this thread can help me add to them then that'll do me |

Fingers crossed, Micko70.
No qualifiers tomorrow (Wed, 1st) but one goes today that would have been a qualifier had it been running tomorrow.
This is outside of the time frame and will NOT be counted in the stats. But, just in case Mark hasn't read our rules, HENRYGEORGE runs in the 3.00 Southwell.
122 days since last appearance, Class 5 Maiden, unplaced LTO in Own Age race. This race is MultiAged. DRAWN 1 (LOW). Joe Fanning on board. Currently 6/1. |

Henry George unplaced. Well, as forewarned, this was outside of our timeframe and does not count. I nibbled at half stakes and hope to get this back once we have a steer on how these go.
jmstocka has kindly done my job for me and it just remains to confirm that there are no runners tomorrow.
See you Thursday with good news, I hope.

As already reported, no qualifiers today.
However, tomorrow sees our first one:
2.30 Southwell: BAILEYS DUTCH.
Non-Handicap, 3yo Seller. Class 6, over 8 furlongs. Off track 101 days, previous race placing 6th OwnAge. Drawn Wide. Phillip Makin takes the ride. Prices not yet up but no question of being odds-on so will qualify. |

No SPs up yet but no chance of odds on so should qualify.
Note: Scatter Dice (4.05 Lingfield) not a qualifier as not first run in the year. Worth a look though but may be a bit short, perhaps around evens. |
