|
|
|
This is on the Saturday football. I'm planning in advance for next season. I went through the whole of last season picking 8 selections per Saturday, 4 odds on selections and 4 over evens selections and did all selections in 5,6,7 and 8 folds for around £20 a weekend. I never really had much success with it and I got wondering the other day what type of bets should I look into doing each weekend? I like religiously doing something every week (gambling (and drinking) on a Saturday for me when the football season is underway is kinda like church going on a Sunday for, well, churchgoers).
I was thinking of maybe 2 £10 correct scores, a £2.50 Trixie of first scorers and something else but I would like advice on what other people do on a Saturday to give me an idea of something to do.

I did well on the bonus goals galore coupon or both teams to score at Betfred. 4 selections would return 8/1 or 3 selections 4/1.
Singles, doubles and trebles maximum if you want a good chance of beating the bookmakers. Find that accas are a waste of time as there is always that 1 team to let u down. |

heres a football bet a bloke in our local bookies used to do
5 home wins in a 5 fold 1/2 to 5/4 odds for home team...only home wins
for 5 pounds stake.
heres the trick in case one lets you down 5 x 2 pound 5 folds with 1 draw
so bet looks like this.
stake
5 2 2 2 2 2 total stake 15
1 x 1 1 1 1
1 1 x 1 1 1
1 1 1 x 1 1
1 1 1 1 x 1
1 1 1 1 1 x
returns @ 1/2 5 fold 37.50
@ 5/2 draw 5 fold 34.50 |

A bet i used to do and might do it again for the new season.
Pick 3 teams that are likely to keep a clean sheet and perm the scores 2-0, 3-0 & 4-0 for 27 doubles and 27 trebles
I got 2 up a few times but never managed to get all 3 _________________ My Twitter Page = Toonmick70

I like your idea Micko. Will consider that one definitely! They're all worth considering also.
Keep the ideas comin! _________________ All of us have bad luck and good luck. The man who persists through the bad luck - who keeps right on going - is the man who is there when the good luck comes - and is ready to receive it. Robert Collier |

You can pick any scores you want though, doesn't have to be 2-0, 3-0 & 4-0
Another bet i have done, but you can only do this bet in a shop as it would take forever to do it online, and you need a bookies with a correct score column on a footy coupon, Ladbrokes have 1 i know for sure.
You simply pick 3 or 4 matches and 50 correct scores, on the left hand column you pick your 3 or 4 teams then write your 50 correct scores in the correct score part, then in the perm box simply write all 3/4 teams plus any 1 correct score = 50 x (Your stake) Accys
Say you wanted to bet a tenner you would simply write 50 x 20p accys, what it means is you have 20p on your 3 or 4 teams and lets say the are priced at 1/2, 1/3, 1/2, 4/6, this would mean you get £1 back for your 20p accy, meaning you now have £1 on 50 correct scores, any 1 correct score will give you a profit, depending on the correct score, i used to take 2-2 for every game, you could pick bigger scores if you wanted, the choice is yours _________________ My Twitter Page = Toonmick70

| Micko, did you look at how having a Trixie on those three teams simply to win to nil compared to your returns from the 2-0s, 3-0s and 4-0s? Win to nil is one of my favoured bets these days and would be interested to know if you found more value in what you are doing. |

| I keep it simple, 50 quid £25 double= Overs(2.5) £25 double= both team to score. I quite often ended up 100 pounds in profit by the end of sat, dont wanna win loads but enough for another bet on sunday and beer tokens for weekend. Lovely jublee..anything over a double and it was too hit an miss..J there was also a few weekends where only BTTS would come in and i would make small profit(5er or 10er) and then weeknds when just Overs would come in (40/50 quid profit) and of course there would be the weekends of £50 loss but but hey ho i should of done my homework... |

Monkeytennis
I did have a look at teams to win rather than picking the score but to be honest with i got a little greedy and thought rather than picking 3 teams at let's say 6/4 to win to nil i would rather risk the chance of hitting lucky and getting 2 or 3, 4-0 scorelines which would be big prices.
I have never got all 3 scores right but have got 2 right a few times, and i couldn't remember whether the match was a win to nil (1-0 or higher than 4-0) or whether they didn't even win at all.
I do the doubles as well as the trebles and let's say i wanted to risk about a tenner a week i would be picking 27 doubles @ 25p & 27 trebles @ 10p, this comes to £9.45 and 2 x 9/1 winners would return £25.
But if i followed your idea and done the teams to win to nil, i would probably only be able to the straight treble as otherwise it would become something like 3 x £3 doubles and a £1 treble and a double (all at 6/4) would pay slightly less at £23.50.
But i might hit lucky with the scores one week and get 2 x 4-0's which could be priced at 20/1 or higher, therefore increasing my potential winnings to about £100.
I will have a look during some Champions League/Europa League qualifiers and look at a few prices _________________ My Twitter Page = Toonmick70

I do an under 2.5 goals treble for £20 every Saturday, you pick 3 games you think will be 0-0 but if any one goes 1-1 or 2-0 too early on you back that there will be another goal in the game on Betfair for your stake back.
Usually you can get a return or at least your money back but there will still be the odd occasion when you do your money and there's nothing you can do about it.
Long term it shows profit though. |

One bet I have done for most of last season was to pick a 4fold of teams to win in each of the top leagues - premier league, la liga, serie A, bundesliga, ligue 1.
All teams to be no shorter than 1/4. I found you could study the form a little better with top teams and mixing across days and countries, especially with online prices, this meant I had a better 'value' bet for the weekend.
I always found wanting to have a bet at a certain time meant I generally lost more, but when I was more thoughtful and excluded time/day restrictions, I won more and regularly.
Whatever you do, as long as you enjoy it, and break even its worth it!!!
Good luck |
