2 games today, one big make or break game for 2 teams, including Australia
Ireland v Bangladesh - 13:30 Start
This is a big game for both teams, Bangladesh having lost to India have to win this game to have a chance of going through, while for Ireland this is their most realistic chance of getting a win to qualify.
Bangladesh are very lucky to be seeded in this tournament ahead of the West Indies putting them in a great position to qualify, they're an improving but not great side and my feeling of them is that they tend to have a team of swingers who all bash out good strike rates but get out very cheaply. Against India they had quite a few quick starts from players but got out too quickly still scoring a resonable score but no where near India.
Obviously the bowling coming from Ireland is of a different level to India and weather Ireland can limit Bangladesh i'm not sure. Bangladesh played well in their warm up against Sri Lanka only losing with 2 balls to go.
Ireland don't seem to have looked quite like the threat they were when they suprised everyone last year but this is still a game that could end up closer than the odds suggest.
I've gone for a bet on the 6's again, taking Bangaldesh to score more than Ireland @ 1.65.
Bangladesh have scored a resonable amount in their warm up games and against India while Ireland haven't been scoring too many.
Australia v Sri Lanka
After a suprising loss to West Indies Australia go into this game needing to beat Sri Lanka to stay in the tournament.
Australia's batting line up looked quality pre tournament with a succession of quality batsman capable of scoring big. However West Indies took them apart far too easily, picking off 2 wicekts in the first over and 4 for just 80 runs. The strong line up made up for this still scoring a resonable score. Their bowling clearly didn't do the job though as Gayle and Fletcher made light work of the score, sprinting along at 14 runs an over for half the innings scoring 133 before losing their first wicket.
Much the same as England I expect an improved performance from Australia.
Sri Lanka I feel have looked a bit weak batting recently, Jayasuriya isn't anywhere near as lethal as he once was and many of the other top order batsman are very hit and miss with Dilshan in the warm ups not bringing his form from the IPL. Their bowlers are lethal though with Malinga, Murali and Mendis all capable of destorying Australia who are often dumbfounded by a decent spin attack.
--
Bets for thsi game, well I fancy Australia can win this but I don't want to be in a position on them when the spin comes in, I would back Australia when Sri Lanka come out to bat though. |

thought Ireland could shock Bangladesh at big odds and backed them to win @ 3.75 on here.
Bangladesh are a team you would always fancy a side like Ireland beating despite them being a full side. But the Tigers really didnt bat well, they were very poor in fact.
Hope someone else got on them _________________ Football and Boxing expert. |

Very sweet
Thought that Ireland had blown it when Bangladesh got 20 runs on their last over, and when Ireland lost a couple of wickets and couldn't score against the spin but the O'Brien brothers got them there in the end. _________________ If a problem is fixable, if a situation is such that you can do something about it, then there is no need to worry. good work from the Irish.
I suffered a big loss there through being too greedy. I'd backed Bangladesh at high prices traded out nicely but then got on them again and got too greedy when with 2 pretty average teams I should have taken my nice profit and ran.
When will I learn?
Some very poor decission making from Ashraful with the bowling in that game certainly cost Bangladesh a fair few runs. |

| I've just had a small bet on Sri Lanka to beat the Aussies. They've just lost Jayasuriya so they're 19/1 after 2.2 overs, but 2.4 looks too big to me and I'll be looking to trade from here. |

That is about right on the limit of what is knocked off and what is not usually at Trent Bridge, however i am with you on this Andy as i think spin wil lbe crucial and Australia just don't have a good option.
Sri Lankan 2 pacemen who bowled 4 overs each went for 83 in their 8
the two spinners went for 49 |

it's a tough call.
I'm on australia at the moment but hope I don't have to watch too many overs from Watson!
Feel if Sri Lanka lose Sanakara and Dilshan they'll be in trouble with a dodgy middle order.
on a nice profit though trading australia down from 3.5 to odds on. |

they may well cruise this for a while then collapse so plenty of life left yet i think |

I've traded out now so it's effectively a free bet on Sri Lanka.
I've backed Sri Lanka on here @ 10's Gecko. I'm a big fan of Slinga, Jayasuriya (though he hasn't done it today) and Dilshan, so I hope it comes off. I thought India may win it initially but after seeing S.Africa the other day (admittedly it was only Scotland, but their intent was clear) I think they'll be in the final too. |
