The reason that this match interests me so much is that it is a dead rubber.
Australia are notorious at these meaningless games and tend to allow strange things to happen. Note a lacklustre West Indies team scoring the highest ever 4th innings chase in 2003.
I hope that Australia will bat first, rack up 300 or so, then India will have a topsy-turvy innings with odds drifting, and eventually win in dramatic fashion.
If it were Aus vs a rubbish team, I would not feel the same, but India are a tremendously talented team and are capable of pulling of the seemingly impossible.
My picks
India @ 2.5 (very small stakes to start off with, will be much better in-play, probably reaching 4 pretty quickly)
Australia to score highest in the first 10 overs @ 1.5. The only times where this hasn't worked is game 2 (where Ganguly was not playing) and game 5 (where Australia were chasing a low total and India opened with spinners). With Ganguly and Tendulkar up top, in their old age, they will not go all guns blazing, even when they're chasing a high total (note the last game) - they will in fact slow down and make sure they have wickets in hand.
Australia to score most sixes @ 1.61 - this has happened in every match so far apart from game 6, where they tied with 7 sixes each.
Quite confident in these three, especially the last two. Thoughts? |

India have generally been a good back in this series with a view to trade.
their odds have come done by quite a way in most of the games as they have batted well in some of the games and taken early wickets in others.
worth a small bet i agree. |

| One wicket down first ball - but the innings runs market was over/under 255?! Australia's lowest score batting first in this series was 290! |

worst timed bet in history!
Deciding that 1.5 was great value at 118 for 2 with Ponting flying and Hodge in I put my back in, backed at 1.6.
Hodge was out, next ball, Symonds out. OH NO!!! |

I backed 275 plus on Betfair at 2.6 which I thought was outstanding odds given the scores in the other ODI's between these two.
luckily I laid it as I think they'll struggle to get that now.
Ponting out as well now so a lot relying on the two that are currently in.
Hope and Haddin currently in, both all rounders, after them it's moving on to the bowlers. |

Surprised that Australia collapsed so badly, I thought that 250+ was a joke and couldnt believe my luck when I took it. When Ponting and Hodge were in, the market had changed to over/under 300!
As I said before, I always fancied India in this game but expected them to be chasing about 100 more. I think India should win this game regardless, but hopefully they'll have a mini-collapse a la Australia and the odds will get back above evens.

I don't see India coasting it, they often make things hard on themselves and while Australia don't need to win they will still be keen to win to make it a 5-1 win.
193 isn't as bad as it could have been but it's still a total India should be able to chase.
Impressive stuff from Kartik netting 6 wickets as they bowled Australia for just 76 for their last 8 wickets.
I thought Hope had a few more runs in him than what he got but it was all rather tame.
Some poor umpiriing but he made mistakes both ways so not so bad!
Their playing under floodlights for their innings which could make it more interesting too.
definately not over and I wouldn't' back India at current odds. |

im fairly certain we will see an early wicket. if the swing which the indians found is still there could be messy early on. _________________ Positions are available in the OLBG Lottery syndicate. Multiple lines in each draw increases chances of a jackpot. Wanna join? Please PM me for info. |

good call Dammo!
Are you watching?
If so do you see more to come? I'm currently in a position on Australia but was considering trading out to level loss, not sure now as if Tendulkar fell now Australia would probably go favourites.
A long way to go yet so i'm tempted to leave it but if these two strike up a partnership that 2.2 might be the lowest I see. |

always watching except for when im abroad!
tendulkar seems to be playing with a bit more fluency than of recent times. the indian batting line up is a bit more flimsier today, reasonably long tail.
seems the early danger has passed and as long as they play sensibly they should do it. that said they are playing a bit more extravagantly than they need to just atm. can see another wicket b4 50. _________________ Positions are available in the OLBG Lottery syndicate. always nice to see the aussies dismessed cheaply even though india have lost early wickets i think that they should still knock these off. |
